Chapter 1: Discovery
Everyone in class snickers as we watch some random video that our teacher Mr. Kai put on. It's obviously the wrong video, because it shows Mr. Jay filming our teacher while he sings in the shower. I zone out completely, not caring about the video. It's not even that funny to me, though my classmates think it's extremely amusing. As my space staring gets deeper, and deeper, I notice a white paper out of the corner of my eye start to levitate off my desk. After a couple of seconds, I realize it's my paper. I quickly snap back into reality and smack my paper back down onto my desk. Everyone turns around in their seats, now looking at me. I wave awkwardly, then Mr. Kai tilts his head to the side, giving me a confused look.
"Can I use the restroom?" I ask Mr. Kai.
Still confused, Mr. Kai nods his head, I then rush out of the classroom. I sprint down the hallway into the girls' bathroom. What's going on? Should I be worried? I'll text Nellie! I pull out my light pink iPhone and go straight to my messages.
Cammi: Come to the bathroom now! We need to talk!
Nellie: I'll be there in a sec. Calm yourself, jeez!
Cammi: Hurry!
After I send that text, Nellie strolls out of one of the beige stalls, putting her white iPhone in her back pocket.
"How long were you in there?" I ask Nellie.
"Like, two minutes. Anyway, whats this big emergency your freaking out about?" Nellie comments, putting her golden blonde hair in a high ponytail.
"So today while Mr. Kai was putting on a video, I zoned out. All of a sudden my paper levitated off my desk!" I exclaim making weird gestures, like Mr. Jay.
Nellie stared at me in the mirror for a second.
"And how did this happen?!" she screamed.
"I don't know? Should I tell Mr. Kai?" I question.
"Well, maybe. Wait 'till after school so I can be there. Now go get back to class. We don't want Mr. Kai and Mr. Zane getting suspicious," Nellie states. I nod my head then exit the bathroom.
I enter Mr. Kai's classroom, trying to catch up on the notes we're taking. As Mr. Kai continues his lecture, I can't stop thinking about what happened just only five minutes ago. I need answers from Mr. Kai, and I need them now.
