Dean looked down and said, "I got a date a week from Friday, with the preacher's son, Cas. He's a pretty cool guy. Funny, down to Earth." But he isn't you... "Yeah the people here are pretty cool with the whole gay thing.. Even though I'm not totally comfortable thinking of anyone that way anymore.. Not since you.."
Got a date a week from Friday with the preacher's son
Everybody says he's crazy, I'll have to see
I finally moved to Jackson when the summer came
"Damn it, Cas, why did you have to go? I miss you like crazy, man, everyday." Dean said, softly, before Sam came jogging over.
"Hey, Cas.. Dude, we gotta go, Dad's waiting in the car." He put a hand on Dean's shoulder and walked away.
"I'll see you later Cas.."
I probably wouldn't be this way
I probably wouldn't hurt so bad
I never pictured every minute without you in it
Oh you left so fast.
Sometimes I see you standing there,
Sometimes it's like I'm losing touch
Sometimes I feel that I'm so lucky to have had the chance to love this much
God give me a moments grace
Cause if I'd never seen your face
I probably wouldn't be this way
Dean slid into the passanger seat next to his father while Sam got in the back. He let a single tear run down his face and wiped it away before John would notice.
"You need to stop talking to him, Dean. He's better off now." John said, trying not to come off as harsh, he failed, but at least he tried.
"Maybe it's time to move on..." Sam suggested with a slight shrug.
Dean tuned them out and stared out the window, fingering his wedding band.
Daddy says that I just shouldn't speak to you
Sammy says that I should just move on
You oughta see the way these people look at me
When they see me 'round here talkin' to this stone
Everybody thinks I lost my mind but I just take it day by day
"You two should be ones to talk.." Dean muttered quietly.
"And just what the hell is that supposed to mean?!" John roared, slamming on his brakes.
"You know what that means, Dad." Sam whispered, looking any where but his father. "We were both angry and vengeful when Mom and Jess died. At least Dean is just grieving instead of looking for revenge."
Dean looked at his brother with admiration, love, and thanks.
I probably wouldn't be this way
I probably wouldn't hurt so bad
I never pictured every minute without you in it
Oh you left so fast.
Sometimes I see you standing there,
Sometimes I feel an angel's touch
Sometimes I feel that I'm so lucky to have had the chance to love this much
God give me a moments grace
Cause if I'd never seen your face
I probably wouldn't be this way
"Hey, are you Dean? I'm Paul, the preacher's kid." The man stuck his hand out for Dean to shake. He looked at it and up at Paul, before putting his hand in the other man's. "Alright so you ready? Let's go! This is gonna be a fun night, I can tell." Dean could swear that out of the corner of his eye he saw a tan trench coat and a dark head of hair, but before he could turn his head, it was gone.
