Maybe Not The Best Idea
...that the Black Organisation had ever had.

Edogawa Conan and Haibara Ai were talking at the back of the Teitan Elementary classroom they were at the moment forced to inhabit, taking their lunch at the back while Haibara tried her best not to constantly shiver at the glare a boy with cold green eyes and long silver hair was sending her from the other end of the room, seemingly non stop.
"So," Conan started, opening up the bento that Ran had prepared for him. "Remind me what happened here."
"Apparently, so far as I, Akai-san, the FBI and the rest could figure out, they realised his mistake."
"And this happened why?"
"Because they thought that it would be a good punishment to assign him to spy on us, as well as a way of forcing us not to tell anyone else about them. Rather effective, in that measure."
"Uh-huh."
There were a few minutes' silence, during which lunches were eaten, and Conan was found to be able to eat considerably more than the strawberry blond beside him. Most, if not all, of the children seemed to want to stay away from the shrunken Black Organisation member.
"Remind me again what you say is probably the reason why that guy over there's such an evil bastard."
The chemist gave him a curious look.
"We think that it's most likely the most simple of reasons. He was brought up to be an assassin for them, and never knew anything else. No close emotional ties when he was young, as is what's expected of someone who grows up there. . . Why?"
"Eh, just thinking."
"Tell me more."
"If you could go back and change everything about a person, would you?"
"It... depends on the person. Certainly, in, ah, some cases. What were you thinking of?"
"Ah," Conan sighed. "Nothing that important."
"Tell. Now."
He gave her a lazy smirk, head resting on one hand.
"How hard d'you think you have to hit a person on the head to give them amnesia?"
"I... don't know. My speciality is chemistry, not biology."
The smirk grew into a mischievous grin, and eyes flicked over to where Gin – or rather, Sakai Hyousuke – was still glaring from.
"Hm... Wanna experiment?"
"My favourite pastime, I think you'll find. Though I usually get the best results through trial and error."
"I don't think I could agree any more, Haibara. Good idea."
"Oh, no, Edogawa-kun. The idea was all yours."
She had slowly started to appear more confident, and was by now able to return the smirk that had earlier graced the boy's face.
"So," said Conan, with a boyishly innocent look on his face and devilish mischief in his eyes, "when do we start?"

AN: Written because I'd read one where Akai was shrunk (and just recently, another), and one where everyone was shrunk, and just today I'd read one where (and I'm assuming the author took liberties with the guy's character and background here) Gin had a more human personality and saves Ayumi from someone/thing. Then the idea for this was born, and I started laughing at the idea of Conan and Ai plotting away like that.
EDIT. Originally the surname had been 'Karasu', as it means Crow. I thought it appropriate, as I didn't know what 'raven' was off the top of my head. However, since finding that someone else had had the same idea, I changed it to 'Sakai', which means... 'Sake town'. If you're wondering, Sake is a general name for alcohol. 'Hyousuke' means 'Helpful Soldier'. I took a while looking up something believable, and that one also has added air of 'how the mighty have fallen' to it #_#
