AN: Spoilers for Break's past which is around Chapter 30... I think? This was originally written for the Second Rainsworth Week on tumblr and Monday's prompts: strenght; trust, woman. Happy reading x

Dandelions

"Xerx-nii-san!"

The exhausted man turned away from the window and towards the twinkling little voice, its owner's bright smile and bubbling enthusiasm suddenly brightening his ever gloomy world.

"Look what I put together!" Tiny, darling Sharon held up a bouquet of dandelions and daisies, tied together with her own hair ribbon in the absence of proper wires. She bowed down her head, face flushed a faint pink, shyly offering them to him. "Aren't they pretty?"

He awkwardly nodded, grinning softly at her. "Very." Plucking one daisy flower from its companions, he secured it behind Sharon's ear, chuckling at the suddenly confused girl's expression. "It's prettier now, don't you think?"

"Nii-san...?" Sharon recovered quickly and took a few flowers of her own. Her petite figure had never been too much trouble for the resourceful girl. She stood on her tip-toes and used his shoulder as a support, the rest of the flower bouquet brushing his chin, delicately slipping the dandelions behind his own bandage-free ear.

He stiffened, not used to such physical contact in a very long time. The little girl took no notice, grinning at the mess of white and yellow in his hair. "Xerx-nii-san is much prettier!"

"He is, isn't he?"

Break grimaced and turned to Lady Shelly, a hint of pink blooming slowly on his cheeks. "Am I really?"

"It suits both of you well. 'Innocence' for Sharon, 'Healing' and 'New beginnings' for you."

He quickly shifted his legs to make room for Shelly as she joined him on the window seat, accompanied by her daughter on her lap. Sharon nestled herself comfortably in her mother's arms, beaming at Break in her own timid manner.

"The women of this house are rather strange."

He chuckled at the little girl's surprise blink.

"And that's why you trust us so implicitly, isn't it?" Break smiled earnestly at Shelly and winked conspiratorially at Sharon, exaggerating the movement with his lone eye. She simply giggled, the twinkling sound forever engraved in his memory.

AN: I was just finishing the Pandora Hearts manga at the end of the week so I didn't get to much else. This was also the first "official" BreakSharon story/drabble I wrote, so it is quite short. I hope you liked it anyway uwu Take care x
