Chapter 1: meet again

"What is the true worth of life? Do we already have the worth in ourselves just by being alive? Or is there any other thing to do to call the life you have worth living? This is the question that a lot of people keep asking, yet there is no exact answer.

Someone said you need to have money to make your life not worthless. Others said you need power to subdue everyone who opposes you and has subordinates to rule. And another person yet said you need to be a glorious person to be the worthy.

But even so, there are still some people who believe we don't need to have that kind of luxurious ambition to make our life worth living. They believe in the happiness which could be found by trivial things. The thing you call happiness for others' happiness, the thing you call compassion, the thing you call gratitude, the thing you call sentiment, the thing you call family, the thing you call friendship, and finally, the thing you call love.

This is the story of a few of those people, I hope from the depths of my heart that it will reach your heart, my dears."

Kanade P.O.V.

In the morning, the sun was shining and the birds were singing, the girl with silver-white haired was standing with her back against the wall of a shop, humming a song. The song that she didn't even know what its name was. And then she looked at the time at her phone and began to walk away from there.

Suddenly, she felt like someone touched her shoulder. When she turned back, her eyes were met with a boy eyes, the boy with orange haired. After he looked at her face for a few seconds, he started to talk to her. "Good morning! Do you also compete in the duel tournament, too?"

She was so surprise that she was quiet for a several seconds. Surprise that, suddenly, he started to talk to her and surprised when she saw his face. He felt strangely familiar to her when she saw his face, like they've met before but she was sure that this was the first time she met the boy.

After she recovered from her surprise, she answered the boy question. "Yes. Do you compete in it, too?" "Yes." The boy answered. After that, the boy showed some hesitation before asked her the next question. "Umm… Would you mind telling me the name of the song you hummed earlier? To be honest, the reason I stopped you was because I heard you humming that song."

After she heard his question, she was quiet for a few seconds before answered "Sorry. I don't know that myself. I just hummed what I've ever heard so I can't answer you, sorry."

"Oh, no, it's okay. It's my fault for asking random questions. Anyway, can you tell me your name, my name is Otonashi Yuzuru."

"Sure, it's Tachibana Kanade." She answered

"Well, Tachibana-san, I hope we will meet again in the tournament. Before that, I wish we both win every match."

"Yes, same here. Anyway, I have to go to eat lunch now, goodbye."

"Goodbye."

After he said goodbye, she continued walking again, thinking about why his face felt so familiar to her.

Yuzuru P.O.V.

"I'm off." It was the word of the boy as he got out of the house and walked down the street.

Today, he had to compete in the duel tournament, which he had registered a long time ago. Yugi cards game had been his hobby for a long time, since he met those cards.

Fifteen minutes later, he was in front of the building that the tournament took place.

As he was about to go into the building, he heard a song that was humming by a girl with white-silver haired. It made him stopping on his track. After a few seconds of hesitation, he turned back and found out that the girl was walking away from where she was.

He ran after her, didn't know why he did that himself. He only knew that the song the girl was humming, and her figure bothered him. As he got close to the girl, he raised one of his hands and used it to touch her shoulder.

Next second, the girl turned back, her eyes met his. He was so shocked. 'Why this girl face feels so familiar to me' he thought. Luckily, he recovered quite fast from the shocked. A few seconds later, he started to talk to her. "Good morning! Do you also compete in the duel tournament, too?" he asked.

The girl seemed confused, too. She was quiet for a several seconds before answered him. "Yes. Do you compete in it, too?" "Yes." He answered. After that, he thought about the song for a while before asked her the next question.

"Umm… Would you mind telling me the name of the song you hummed earlier? To be honest, the reason I stopped you was because I heard you humming that song." After he asked, the girl was quiet for a few seconds before answered him "Sorry. I don't know that myself. I just hummed what I've ever heard so I can't answer you, sorry." After he heard her answer, he said.

After he said that, she continued walking again. After she was out of his sight, he was thinking again, about where did he hear that song and why her face was so familiar to him. 'Well, it doesn't matter.' He thought. And then he went into the building.
