Enjoy!

All mistakes my own.

Had a bad day? I'll cheer you up!

Hotch hung up his office phone. He was angry. That was the tenth call he'd gotten from familes of the UnSub they recently took down. All threatening. Hotch sighed and if that wasn't enough the bitch known as Strauss piled a mountain of paperwork onto his desk. This morning he kocked over his coffee and got it everywhere. He truck wouldn't start. His clothes in the dryer were damp. He sighed again.

Hotch was having a bad day.

At lunch Hotch forgot his and he left his wallet at home. He wanted to scream and tear his hair out.

Later he still hadn't finished his paperwork, he had a freakout when a spider ran across his desk, his computer got a virus, Strauss gave him more paperwork. He was about ready to lose it! But then he saw his son and surrogate son playing in the bullpen. He smiled a little.

After work he settled his charge in his car seat and tried to start the truck. But it wouldn't start. Once he got it going they headed home. Spencer looked at his through the rearview mirror and could tell he had a bad day.

During dinner Hotch looked at his son and frowned a little. He had been quiet since the they left the BAU.

"Spencer? You okay? You've been really quiet." Hotch asked.

"I'm otay daddy." He said. 'I'm more worried about you.'

"You sure? You feel okay?" Hotch asked.

"I feel fine." He said.

Hotch nodded. 'He probably figured out about my bad day.'

Once dinner was done they cleaned up the kitchen. Hotch took Spencer upstairs and gave him his bath. Spencer played in Hotchs office while he worked. Hotch was more comfortable knowing he could work and still keep an eye on Spencer.

At bedtime Hotch tucked in Spencer and kissed his forehead. They said goodnight to each other.

Hotch dragged himself into his room and changed into his pjs. He laid down with a groan, and found he couldn't sleep. He looked towards the his bedroom door and saw Spencer standing there. He frowned. Spencer never came to his room unless Hotch put him to bed with him. Going into 'dad mode' he sat up.

"What's up buddy?" He asked. "Had a nightmare already?"

Spencer shook his head no. He picked up his book and tottled over to Hotchs bed. He snuggled into the blankets and got comfortable.

"What's this then?" Hotch asked.

"I I know you had a bad day. So I f fought I'd wead to you. My mom when she was alive and I was little she'd wead to me and it made me feel bettew." Spencer said playing with the hem of his shirt.

Hotch smiled. Spencer was always so kind and gentle. He snuggled the toddler into his side.

"So. What's the bedtime story tonight?" Hotch asked.

"Gween Eggs and Ham." Spencer said. "Gawtia wead fis to me at naptime."

Hotchs smile grew. Figures Garcia would read something like that.

"Weady?" Spencer asked.

"Ready." Hotch said.

Spencer read to Hotch. Hotch felt his anger slowly melt away with each word his charge read. Being read too was making him feel so much better.

After the story was finished Spencer sleepily fisted his eyes. He looked up at his father and smiled.

"Feel bettew?" Spencer yawned.

Hotch chuckled. He placed the book on the nightstand and turned out the light. He laid down with Spencer in his arms. Hotch had compeletly forgot why he was mad. He and Spencer slept peacefully that night.

Awww! I loved Green Eggs and Ham. When I'm mad, I draw, write, or jam on my guitar. Lol.

See ya soon!
