The Prophecy
Wind was rustling the trees. Eragon saw a girl in tattered rags for clothes upon the floor. She was cluthching a stone as green as the leaves of a tree. A light came in from a hole in the wall and shined on the stone. Then a crack appeared in it. Then another. And another. Finally the stone cracked open and...
"Wake up, Nasuada has asked for you." Eragon groaned. It was Roran. He always had the worst timing. "OK, Im coming. Where is she?" He said. "In her room." said Roran. Eragon got up to leave."W-wait, Eragon!!" Roran bursted out. Eragon gave him a questioning look. "Um, I was wondering..." But Eragon already knew. Roran was worried about Katrina. Eragon gave his cousin a look of sympathy. "Soon, Brother." and he left. He called out to Saphira through their mental link.
Come. Nasuada has sent for us.
I know. I am coming now, little one.
Eragon broke the connection. He thought over his dream. Could it have been right? Had someone actually gotten the last egg to hatch? Or had it been a regular dream of no coincidence? He crossed off that idea right away. All his other dreams came true, why shouldnt this one? He decided to tell Nasuada about it. She was his liege lord. She had a right to know.
He reached her room and walked in. Nasuada was sitting at her desk, waiting for him. He walked up to her and said "My Lady, you called for me?" Saphira listened in through her and Eragons mental connection (the room was too small for her to fit in). "Yes," she said, "Arya told me your training has not yet been finished. You must go to Ellesmera and finish your training."
"Before that, I have to go with Roran to save Katrina." Eragon said, " I promised Roran I would help look for her. But, I must talk to you about something. I had this dream last night..." he told her about the dream. The pictures stood vivid in his mind as he described them. Nasuada looked like she wanted to interrupt, but she stayed silent. When Eragon finished, Nasuada told Farica, her handmaid, to go fetch Arya. A few moments later, Arya came in and said, "You called?" Nasuada quickly told Arya about Eragons dream. Arya gave them a strange look and said, "I also had a dream. There was fog, and a man stepped out of it, and said
"3 will become1
Evil will rage against good
enemys shall join forces
and 1 shall triumph."
Eragon felt Saphira enter his mind.
That cant be good.
