Little Assassin
(NOTE: I DO NOT OWN THE HUNGER GAMES OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS IN THE STORY, ALL OF THIS BELONGS TO SUZANNE COLLINS)
It was dark and I couldn't see, I tried moving but my hands and feet were tied. Was I still in the arena? I looked around, barely visible, I saw a cave wall. Yep. I was still in these fucking games. "Hello? Glimmer? Clove?" I shouted. "Is anyone there?" "Yes." This voice sounded like a little girl's voice, and coming out of the shadows was a little girl. Rue.
"Where the fuck are we!" I screamed. "You're in my little home silly." giggled Rue. "I wanted to take you away from those mean Careers so you could be with me." "W-what?" I asked. "Yes Cato. You're like the big brother I never had." replied Rue, oddly smiling.
I was so confused. I reminded her of a big brother she wanted? How can I remind anyone of anything but a cold-hearted killer? "Sadly though, I have to kill you. I already killed your Career friends well." She said. Rue then walked to another part of the cave dragging corpse, by corpse over to me. Glimmer…Marvel…and Clove! "Y-you did this?" I asked my voice very shaky and un-easy. She nodded her head and turned on a lamp.
The cave was probably the foulest thing I'd ever seen. Blood was all over the floor, and I was sitting in a puddle. I had no way of knowing if it was mine or someone else's. Glimmer's arm was severed and it was sitting in a corner. I thought I saw paintings of me in blood but I honestly wasn't sure. Some of Marvel's organs were lying around. I thought people from the Capitol were supposed to collect these dead bodies? A few swords, very sharp knives, poisonous darts, and many other torturous devices lie in the corner of this cave.
"Isn't my home beautiful?" asked Rue. Her eyes glow somewhat a dark red color. "It's awful you little witch." I snapped. She walked over to me and licked my lips. "You're going to be fun to play with." Rue whispered into my ear. A streak of warmth ran down my back. I was honestly scared. I had no weapons, and this little girl… The girl that acted so innocent on the interviews was going to kill me.
"Are you ready to play?" she asked, sadistically smiling. I just struggled to get out. Straining every muscle in my body to snap these ropes. Rue picked up one of the knives and walked behind me, resting her hand on my shoulder. "This will be fun. Trust me." She said. That being said, she walked back in front of me and thrust the knife into my torso. I let out a squeak of pain but nothing severe.
Rue took the knife out and repeated. This time I let out a howl of pain. Blood started to pour rapidly from my wound. She smiled at the sight of my blood gashing out. The puddle I was already sitting in became larger by the second.
"Now, for some real art." said Rue. She picked up another knife; it wasn't as big as the other but very sharp. Sitting down on her knees, Rue pulled up my pants leg and started carving her name into my leg. I didn't know what to do besides scream. "This is to let any other tributes alive know I killed you." She said. "To let them know I killed you. ME! The innocent, little girl from District 11." I was speechless; I didn't know what to say.
