Chapter 1

One night Sara is holding 9 month old Charlie who is screaming her head off and pulling at her ear while she is yelling at Amber about being late and Amber storms to her gets a chance to sit down and look at Charlie's ear and it's all red and feels her forehead.

''uh oh baby.'' she says

''okay baby it's alright.'' Sara tells her and goes into the kitchen with Charlie on her hip and gets her some juice out of the fridge and puts it in her sippy cup and hands it to her and brings her back over to the couch to relax and strokes Charlie's head while Charlie drinks and rubs her blankey against her face

Charlie keeps pulling at her ear hardly.

''stop baby.'' Sara tells her and pulls her hand away and reaches over and gets some ear drops out of the draw in the side table next to the couch that she put in there a few mornings before when Charlie was pulling at her ear

Sara lays Charlie down.

Charlie kicks and screams.

''shh shh it's alright baby mommy's gonna make you feel so much better.'' Sara tells her and tries to distract her so she can get the drops in her ears and gives her a break from trying for a second

Charlie just lays there and drinks from her sippy and looks at Sara and holds her sippy close to her.

Adam comes in.

''hey.'' he says

Sara gasps ''hey Adam.'' she says

''what's wrong?'' he asks her

''she's just so sick and she's barley letting me put drops in her ears.'' Sara tells him

''do you mind?'' he asks her

''no not at all.'' she says

Adam sits down on the couch and picks her up and puts her blankey against his chest and lays her down on his lap so she's against his chest.

''okay go ahead and try now.'' he tells her and gently holds Charlie's head so she won't move so Sara can get the drops in without her pulling away

''okay.'' she says and puts some drops into Charlie's ears

Sara watches Charlie take a deep breath and watches her relax.

''see that wasn't so bad was it baby?'' Sara asks her and kisses her head and watches Charlie close her eyes

''thank you Adam.'' she says

''no problem we used to do this with Haddie all the time.'' he tells her

''oh well you're a great uncle for doing everything for me.'' she tells him

''well I try you're my favorite sister after all.'' he tells her

Sara just smiles at him.

''so do you think she's feeling any better?'' he asks her

Sara just shrugs ''I don't know.'' Sara tells him
