According to the paper before him, Sephiroth had not been spotted in any nearby cities or villages. Yet Cloud didn't dare to believe that Sephiroth was about to repent for what he did five years ago. No, something told him that the silver-haired man was waiting for the right moment to strike. And he would strike hard.

"Boo!" cried a voice as a plastic face appeared in front of him, the shock of it making him scoot back into his chair. The voice that had spoken giggled as its owner leaned over the back of the chair so that he was staring into the upside down face of Aeris Gainsborough. She smiled and moved her hand with the puppet closer to him but he raised his own palm and tried to fight it off.

She brought her hand back a little before she dived again, this time successfully placing the puppet in Cloud's hair, ruffling up. He growled and batted her hand away, desperately trying to sort his hair with his other hand. She smiled playfully.

"I like your hair all roughed up," she contemplated aloud, making Cloud stop halfway through flattening his strands with a faint blush. "It's cute."

The faint blush that had been on his cheeks turned a darker shade of red as he muttered a low thanks. Aeris straightened up, still smiling cheerfully to herself as she walked away.

"I better return this puppet to the kids, they want me to do a little show," she explained as she left the room. Cloud blinked after her before a goofy grin spread across his face as he deliberately messed up his hair.

"She thinks I'm cute!" he whispered happily to himself, and then, as if realising what he had just said, he shut his mouth and put on his pout just in time for Yuffie to enter the room and think everything was normal
