Nate sighed looking at his cupcake.

"Hey what are you doing?" Alex asked as she and Mitchie walked into the Grey's spacious kitchen.

"I'm contemplating life." Nate replied casually, turning his attention back to the cupcake.

"So what's the cupcake for?" Alex asked curiously taking a seat at the bench next to Nate.

"Well the way I see it is this: life is like a cupcake. Sweet and gooey on the inside, but crumbly on the outside. So without the paper it could fall apart at any time." Nate explained seriously.

"No, Nate. You have it all wrong and that didn't make any sense." Mitchie piped up. "Life is more like…." She trailed off as she looked around the room. "Life is much more like oranges." She finally said, nodding her eyes landing on an orange in the fruit bowl in front of her.

"You see oranges, like life, are kind of sweet with a sour edge to them, and every now and then you come across bad bits like the pips." Mitchie explained seeing her friends' confused faces. "But most of all with life you have to work hard and pick through the bad to get to the good, exactly like oranges." Mitchie finished pleased with herself.

"No, you're both wrong," Jason said from the corner of the room where he had been standing unnoticed. "Life is like bird seed. All sorts of thing all mixed. Everyone likes different bits of the bird seed, like some people might like poppy seeds and others might like the sunflower seeds but it is all good in the end," he rambled on, beginning to get on a roll. "And each type of seed corresponds with a part of life. Say the sunflower seed might be a happy time and poppy seeds might be a sad time so you see what I mean." He finished incomprehensibly.

"None of you are even close. Life is like foosball. Fun, exiting, irritating, challenging and educational. But most of all it is something that just isn't any fun by yourself." Shane butted in, looking right at Mitchie as he said the part about like being no fun alone. "Oh and it is way better when you win," he added as an after thought trying to cover his tracks but grinning when he saw Mitchie blush.

"You guys are all crazy. Most of that made no sense at all. You obliviously have been spending way too much time contemplating life and not enough time living it." Alex ranted rolling her eyes at them. "Oh and life is way more random. You just never know what you are going to get" she added as she closed the door.

Nate sighed once more as he watched Alex go before turning back to has cupcake and considering what all the others had said, "well whatever life is like, it's much better with cupcake's" Nate thought as he took the first bite into has cupcake "much, much better".

A/N Hi I would like to thank you for reading (well if anyone has read this sigh it will probably be lost in all the lovely camp rock-ness out there). Well if you are reading it would make my day (or probably my week more likely) if you could review and tell me what you think. Oh and also thank you to Paige who was so nice in editing my work.
