Lorlen relaxed in his high backed chair and sighed. Another day of sorting out paper work and listening to the latest debate the magicians had come up with. Shivering, Lorlen glanced around the room.
"I'm going to have to find that draft" Lorlen moaned to know one in particular.
He then glanced out of the window and spotted Akkarin. His old friend was still just as distant and aloof as usual. Lorlen was sure he didn't have to deal with paper work and moaning magicians, but, Lorlen knew that Akkarin did do his job. He attended meetings with the kings and came whenever Lorlen called. He was a good High Lord. Lorlen was know sat there thinking back to the days when they were young, they used to have so much fun. Lorlen found himself thinking of the time when he was invited for a week to Akkarin's house. He sighed…
"Lorlen!! Haha you are so gunna love my house! It has eight bedrooms! Can you believe it eight bedrooms! Three shower rooms, its own pool, two dining room and a huge hall way! I'm telling ya Lorlen you ain't seen nothing yet!" Akkarin exploded, making Lorlen laugh.
"So…I'll take that as a 'yes' that I can come to yours this break?" Lorlen said.
"Sure! There was never a doubt. We can go swimming, riding…pulling pranks! Haha. This is gunna be good Lorlen!" Akkarin breathlessly said
They both walked out of there last class and headed for the main entrance. They were both practically running when they finally found there carriage. Lorlen noted that two, perfectly identical, black horses were pulling it. Inside was Akkarin's mother. They both clambered in and set off to Akkarin's home, or the way Akkarin had described it, a mansion.
The carriage pulled up outside a large bronze metal gate. As a servant came to the gate to open it, Akkarin dived out of the carriage, taking Lorlen with him. Akkarin pulled Lorlen through the large main gates and into a pebbled courtyard. The house was huge. Lorlen thought his was big! He didn't have much time to stand there and admire it, Akkarin was already pulling him up a flight of concrete stairs and up to a large black door, with a large gold lions head as a door knocker, also, there was a small gold peep hole in which there was a large blue eye peeping through. The door opened and Lorlen was dragged into a very large hall way that seemed to go on forever. Akkarin turned to face Lorlen when they were a few steps into the huge hallway.
"So…what shall we do first? I'm starved, you wanna see the kitchen? Its full of food."
Lorlens stomach growled at the thought of food. He hadn't eaten since the mourning. He had to skip midday lunch, because, he hadn't done his work he was supposed to finish for that history lesson. He found himself being dragged along again.
"I will take that growl as a yes then. You won't catch any girls with no muscle!" Akkarin joked.
"Easy for you to say" Lorlen muttered.
Akkarin had nearly every girl at the guild at his feet, and, he knew it. He was everything a girl wanted these days. Well toned body, dark hair, rich family and a good sense of humour. Lorlen was none of these. Maybe apart from the rich part. He was rich, but, not as rich as Akkarin it would seem. Lorlen was dragged out of his thoughts by a large white room. It had a large stove in the middle and there were about four servants rushing around with different foods and spices. Lorlens stomach grumbled again.
