Summertime Morning

It started out like any other morning in the Burrow during the summer. Harry and Hermione had already arrived the night before. Harry slept in Ron's room, as usual, and Hermione slept in Ginny's. Hermione woke before Ginny did, just as the sun rays danced across Ginny's face.

Wow, she's beautiful, Hermione though, as she witnessed this heavenly moment. Hermione knew for awhile now that she was attracted to her friends here. The beams of sun on Ginny's face woke her up, and she looked over at Hermione. Hermione looks away quickly, hoping that Ginny didn't notice that she was staring.

Was she just staring at me? Why would she be staring at me? Was I drooling in my sleep? Ginny's thoughts run rapid through her head, while Hermione just sits on her bed, laughing in her head at the expressions that are playing across Ginny's face. Hermione tries to stifle it, but she can't. She begins to giggle.

"What's so funny?" Ginny asks, sounding slightly cross.

"Oh, it's nothing." Hermione begins to laugh.

Ginny decides to get the truth out of Hermione by pouncing on her like a lioness, pinning her to the bed, and sitting on her hips.

"Now, tell me what you are laughing at or I shall tickle you," Ginny demands, almost slyly.

"Ok, ok. I just thought that you looked kinda…well you know…er…well…cute," Hermione admits in a little voice.

Cute? Did she just say cute? Me? She thinks I'm cute? Maybe I should tell her what I think of her, Ginny thinks.

"Do you actually think I'm cute?" Ginny has to ask.

"No," Hermione replies. Ginny's heart fell.

"I think you're hot, goddess-like" Hermione states.

Ginny's heart leapt into her throat. The smile she gave to Hermione made Hermione's heart melt. Ginny bites her bottom lip for a moment before gathering her courage and kisses Hermione lightly on the lips. Hermione responds by cupping the side of Ginny's face to kiss back. The love that was flowing in that kiss was so overwhelming that it left both girls breathless.

"So, I take it that you like me as well, huh," Hermione says, grinning.

"You know, for a brain, you can be pretty slow sometimes" Ginny replies.

The girls explore their new-found love until Mrs. Weasley calls them down for breakfast. By this time, the sun has fully lit up the room.
