Cloud blinked slowly, his cheeks burning as he stared at Aeris before him, held in the loose grip of the actor. He was aware of the audiance staring at him, awaiting his next move. Slowly, he urged his body forwards and sunk to one knee, taking Aeris' hand. Surprise couldn't begin to describe the look on her face.
"Cloud..." she whispered softly, transfixed with the scene before her until the actor behind her cleared his throat loudly. She blushed. "I mean Sir Arthur..."
He looked up as his lips brushed delicately against the back of her hand. They stared into each other's eyes and Aeris wished more than anything for that moment to last forever. Or at least to have a replay button. He pulled away but his hand still held hers loosely as the crowd erupted in cheers. But they didn't matter, all Cloud could see was Aeris' glowing eyes and her beautiful smile.
He had never liked the theatre much but, after that night, he found himself liking it a little bit more...
