Title: Extraordinary
Characters: Bruce Wayne talking about Artemis Crock and Dick Grayson, with mentions of Alfred Pennyworth.
Pairings: Traught! And you get a bit of Batfam between Daddy Bats and Dick.
Summary: I just imagined that, being exposed to countless of metahumans in this line of work, Dick— or any human really— be attracted to someone 'out of his world'. Literally.
Notes: Done for the 30 Day Drabble Challenge; Day 29. Oh wow I thought this was a cool idea before I realised I hate first-person perspective and now this just sucks bleugh. Anyway, last day tomorrow!
Prompt: Simple
Disclaimer: Nope, characters not mine

Being an extraordinarily talented boy, I imagined Dick's attention would be grabbed by someone just as exceptional as him. Definitely not someone simple like Artemis.

Of course, Artemis is great. I just imagined that, being exposed to countless of metahumans in this line of work, Dick—or any human really— would be attracted to someone 'out of his world'. Literally. Honestly, I thought the boy was interested in Giovanni's kid. Zatanna, I think. And Flash has been teasing his kid about Artemis, too. Naturally, this is all surprising.

I'm not against it. In fact, this pleases me. Expecting something doesn't necessarily mean you want it to happen. Perhaps a human girlfriend will keep Dick grounded enough, but still stay in the superhero business.

It irks me to say that, I should've known from the start. He should have been wary of her, knowing her family background, but instead treated it like it was nothing. I taught him better than that, but maybe it was because I allowed it, too. Still, I should've know then that Dick harboured even the slightest of attraction towards the girl.

They're usually in the mansion; Dick had begged me to allow him to reveal his identity. Needless to day, I have never heard of this song Call Me Maybe but I'm sure I know every single word in it. They stay in the entertainment room most of the time playing video games, but I still ask Alfred to check on them all the times. You'll never know. They're admittedly good kids enough, I just don't want to take the risk.

In the end, Artemis is good for him. Excellent, really. They understand each other the best, being non-metahumans, being in the same school, and even being in the same city. And, okay, maybe I'm wrong. She's great with a bow, and can even beat Dick at combat training.

She's just as extraordinary as him.

A/N: I just want you to know Artemis is my goddess and I think there's only 2 or 3 fics I've written that's not about her pfft.
