He'd tried burgers and strong coffee and even persuaded the prettiest nurse to come visit but nothing was working.
That's why he grinned when he walked into the room and saw the smile on his brother's bruised and battered face as the 'Pat-Dog' puppy nuzzled oh-so-gently up to Dean's bandaged shoulder.
"You make a new friend?"
Dean nodded, his face illuminated as the little ball of soft fluff nestled against him, his hand stroking her fur.
"Not lost the magic, Sammy!"
Silly fluff I know but Pat Dogs and Cats do real good work helping people in hospital feel better.
