A/N: I do not own the Glee characters; unfortunately they belong to Ryan Murphy and Fox. This has been stuck in my head for a while. It's not the greatest but at least now that it's out it can stop bugging me. Please R/R.
"There's been an accident…"
Her heels click loudly against the tiled floor as she runs down the hall. Her dress bunches tightly in her hands.
"What room is she in? Can I see her?"
She stops short just outside the double doors. Her breath comes in pants. Her whole body shakes with nerves.
"She's currently in surgery. It was a pretty bad crash."
She stares at the sign for the IC unit. Her mind is in a daze. This is supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Somehow it turned into her worst.
"She's stable for the moment but you can only stay for a moment."
She tries her best to compose herself as she walks slowly into the IC unit and towards room 410. She takes a deep breath and holds. She releases slowly and enters.
"She's in a medically induced coma so that she can heal. But I hear that talking to her should help."
She doesn't know how many days or nights she has sat in this chair. Whispering secrets that part of her hopes Quinn won't remember and part of her hope she will. She doesn't know if it's only been a day, a week, a month, or a year. Time has not only stopped making sense to her but it has completely run together. The nurses say she's the most frequent visitor outside of Santana and Brittany. It oddly doesn't surprise her as much as it should. Her dads have always said she was persistent. And then suddenly it's like time unfreezes. First it's a simple twitch of her finger. Rachel screams for the doctors. Then it was movement behind her eyelids. She's pressing the call button like her life depends on it. Finally, the eyes that she has wanted to look into for so long: open. It's like Rachel can breathe again. She is asked to step away so that the doctors can check her over. She calls Judy Fabray, Santana, and Brittany. Their numbers long since put on speed dial replacing not only Finn but also her dads.
"You can go in now."
She can't keep the tears at bay. There is so much she wants to say, that she can't say anything at all.
"Hi." Rachel finally manages to get out, a watery smile on her face.
"Who are you?"
And just like that Rachel's air is taken away and time freezes again.
