Chapter 1
I heard my brother yell up at me to come down the stairs, that he had a surprise for me. My brother Michael and I have always been really close, after my parents died in the car accident two years ago; he is all I have left. Today was my birthday I was finally 18, it was about time. I ran down the stairs not knowing what I would find, he had already given me a whole wardrobe of new clothes for my birthday I don't know what else he could get me, I mean we weren't rich we were just really close to it, considering the circumstances upon getting that money I wouldn't say it was a good thing. There my brother stood next to I pile of 4 suitcases.
"Wow you planning on going somewhere Michael?" I asked playfully
"no but you are, that's the second part of your surprise, open the top suitcase and you will find out, I already know your dying with anticipation"
I walked over to the pile of suitcases cautiously, not knowing what I would find. When the suitcase opened I looked at the simple things in there; there was a passport, camera, new iPod, house papers, hotel papers and a plane ticket, I'm going to London, wait, wait, scratch that I'm MOVING to London. I started screaming with joy, London is the one place I have always wanted to go, I live in LA, but I want to live in Europe so bad, its where both my parents were born. They met each other on the London eye
"How did you know I wanted to live there?" I asked hugging him tightly
"I heard you talking to violet about it"
"so when are we going then?"
"Karalee, here's the thing; I'm not going with you I'm staying here, only you're going. It's time you started living your own life, I know we have stuck together since mom and dad died but I think it's time you did this, I know you have wanted to go for a year now. So don't worry about me and just go"
I don't know what I was going to do without him to turn to all the time
"you have your own house, it has its own furniture you will have to shop for food and stuff but for your first week you're in a luxury hotel ok so go pack, your plane leaves at midnight"
I ran upstairs not knowing what my future held.
