Chapter 1: Like the Fish

On December, 6th, 1973 it was cold. It was the begining of the Christmas season and the kids at school were coming down with a type of cabin fever. Tired of work, and excited about having 2 weeks off of school. The bell for 8th period rung and I threw on my parka and stumbled out of class. Today I was in no sudden need to get home to quickly so I decided to take the long route through the corn feild. The corn feild backed up to the suberb that i lived in with my Mom, Dad, younger brother, and younger sister, and ofcourse our dog. As I walked through the field of corn it sounded like fall again, the crunching of the huskes sounded wintery which was good. Later on in my heaven I would regret even considering going home this way. Just as i was able to see the clearing were the now white grass once stood and the cute Christmas decorated homes met the flattened corn feild. I started to jog a little now, i wanted to get out of sight of the road. My mother absolutly dispised me walking through the corn feild after my little brother once tride to eat one of the rotton peices of corn. I began walking at a slant to make it seem as if I had hoped up onto the imbetween of the grass and corn to prevent from getting hit by a car. And them my neigbor Mr. Harvey came around from the backside of one of the cute Europeian style homes.

" Hello Susie"- Said Mr. Harvey

" Oh Hi Mr. Harvey, kinda startled me for a moment" - I managed to say

I didnt realize till in my heaven why he was hiding behind that house, in my heaven i couldnt help but critisize myself. Like watching a movie and yelling at a character when she goes into a dark room. But in this movie I was the Character and im sure somewere out their in the world someone was yelling at me for stopping to talk to Mr. Harvey. Mr. Harvey was a brown haired middle aged men who ait tv dinner's and drank wine from a box. But the truth was that Mr. Harvey was neither he seemed nice i mean for someone i knew mearly from overhearing a conversation on fertilizer with my dad.
