So, my idea for this came when a friend and I were discussing how this particular couple didn't get as much attention as they should've. And you've probably already guessed who it is. I spent hours trying to write this oneshot, which was kind of hard because I wanted it to have a deeper meaning than just them being another couple in PJO. I rewrote this several times. His view, her view, alternating between both views, someone else's view. Finally, I thought to myself "Why does it have to centrally focus on them?" And the genius idea of mentoring came to mind. And so, my friend (yeah, you know who you are, my little inspiration, you.), this is for you.

Disclaimer: I still don't own PJO. I'm working on it, but, sadly, I don't think that it'll happen anytime soon.

She locked eyes with him. Slowly everything disappeared, and it was just the two of them together. Even from all the way across the beach, she could tell he was smiling. She liked his smile. She liked the way she looked at him. To him, she wasn't some stupid, naïve girl. To him, she was a misunderstood girl he wanted to get to know. Out of the corner of her eye, her sister made a face, and she was jerked back into reality.

"He's icky." Her sister told her. "You know who you'd be great with? Luke. Too bad he's, you know, evil and all. He's still hot, though."

"You don't know the first thing about being a daughter of Aphrodite, do you?" She crossed her arms. "It's not about who's the hottest."

The younger girl rolled her eyes. "We're daughter's a the most beautiful goddess. We deserve pretty people. Not icky sons of Hephaestus."

"Charlie isn't icky." Silena defended him. "He's sweet, and honest. And what would you know? You don't know the first thing about love."

"I know that pretty people go with pretty people."

Silena rolled her eyes. "You should be worried about how long it's going to take Percabeth to get together, not whether they're pretty enough to be with eachother."

"But they are pretty enough to be together."

"You're a helpless cause." Silena sighed, standing up and brushing the sand off her legs.

"I'm not naïve, Silena. I know about love."

"Your version of love is a pretty pathetic one for someone who's next in line. You don't know anything about love, Drew. It's about heart. It's about compatibility. About who's willing to treat you the way you deserve to be treated." Silena snapped at her sister. "What you think you know, that's just the glossed-up, Hollywood version of love. That's not real love. You're not here to become Ryan Reynolds's next wife just because you're both pretty." Drew crossed her arms and pouted. "Now if you excuse me, I have something I need to do."

She walked across the beach. Right up to Beckendorf.

"Hey, Silena." He said, blushing.

"Charlie, I was wondering if you'd like to go to the fireworks with me."

His cheeks got redder. His siblings nudged eachother, smiling and exchanging looks.

"Yeah," He tried to say somewhat confidently, but it only came out as a whisper. "I'd like that."

Did you like? Review s'il vous plait(: (for those who aren't children of Aphrodite, that's "please" in French:D)

Stay cool, my fellow PJO lovers. I'm writing for you. {less than 3}
