The Pathologist.
i watch from afar
coats never looked so appealing
cheekbones; scars
invisible to others
you say that i matter
that i matter the most
its hard to believe when
i'm usually not in the picture.
unrequited love; a favorite
amongst poets
if only sweet poetry
could do justice to me
so i'd have you in my arms, love
and, perhaps, you'd smile back.
kisses
not on the lips; that
is what my dreams are made of
but on the cheek; not once
twice; although i'd rather
forget the first one
kisses, and dreams
perhaps you gave me up that day
or so the romantic in me laments.
love, of a different kind
or was it infatuation?
it took me two years to figure out
and i have let go of the other man
for i know false love cannot last for long
and now as i watch you from afar
i wonder
will you ever let go of the woman?
my questions are unanswered
although i never did ask them
courage is a trend long forgotten
i can only hope it materializes
in your case.
