As you guy's can guess, this is another one of my challenges that I'll possibly do, or leave it as a one-shot, it just depends if the muses will help me or not with this one.

Also as you can see, this is a pilot chapter, just to see if people will enjoy it or not, pretty much the same-thing as some TV shows.

A Ninja Ain't Afraid Of No Ghost.

Chapter 1

Pilot.

A Black Void.

Young Naruto had no idea where he was, one moment he and his teammate were aiming their top jutsu at each other, but when the jutsus connected, the two boys were in a black ball, which turned into a bright light, Naruto managed to knock Sasuke out against the Valley wall, but before Naruto could make his way towards the knocked out Uchiha a green swirling hole opened up where the "black ball" Naruto and Sasuke made.

Before Naruto could do anything, the green hole started pulling the tired jinchuriki towards it, having no chakra left and tired from using the fox's chakra, Naruto was sent flying into the spooky swirl.

As soon as he made contact, there was a bright flash, a sudden pain unlike anything he ever felt before, then darkness, floating in absolute darkness, guess it's a fact that he wasn't in The Valley Of The End anymore.

Though while Naruto was floating in an unconscious state, a strange substance entered his body and attached itself to his DNA, without any trouble from the fox inside Naruto, because it turns out that entering the void knocked the fox out too.

New York 1981

Back ally.

Landing an ally somewhere, Naruto started waking up, at the moment he felt like he just been trampled by Sasuke's fan-girls, while they were wearing stilettos, so yeah extremely crappy, pushing himself up by a dumpster, the young boy looked around, as he was looking he ended up spotting a small orange ball-like thing, covered in fur.

Picking the "ball" up, Naruto was shocked at what it was, turns out Naruto wasn't the only one effected by the glowing green swirl, because there laying in his arms was a fox, but not just any fox, it was the Kyuubi no Kitsune, only this time it was the size of a regular fox, but it still had it's 9 tails.

Staring at the fox, trying to process everything, the fox began to awaken, at the moment everything was blurry, blinking a few times to get things into focus, the fox looked around again, coming face to face with it's container, or by the looks of things, ex-container.

Now both were staring at each other with wide eyes, at the moment they both said nothing, slowly breathing heavy as though they about to hyperventilate, that is until they did the same-thing at the same-time.

"AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!"

"AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!"

They both screamed their heads off, since the fox was suppose to sealed inside of Naruto, yet somehow they were looking(screaming) at each other in the outside world, with the fox in a much smaller form than usual.

3 Year Recap

After Arriving In New York.

After going through the whole freaking out montage, with both having no idea how to get back home, though the fox was reluctant since it didn't want to be sealed again, but after coming to an understanding, with a few choice words, along with scratches, bite marks and bruises, the pair decided to work together in order to survive in the new world for now.

But as it turned out, Naruto had to learn a whole new language, but unfortunately he couldn't use his chakra anymore, it felt different, as well as though it was locked or blocked by something, the fox's chakra still felt the same for it, but unfortunately Naruto couldn't draw any from the fox because of how different Naruto's chakra felt along with being locked or blocked.

Naruto started doing something he never thought he'd ever do, he studied, first he studied the language, both reading and writing, until he didn't have an accent, because Naruto Uzumaki never does things half-arsed, it's all in or not at all.

Once complete with that task after a month or so, with working as an odd-job boy at a few places to pay for food and somewhere to sleep, along with the fox learning the language and hiding it's extra tails by wrapping them around one another to look like a big bushy tail, it turned out Naruto had to go to the one place he dreaded ever going to in his life, back to school.

Though once getting use to it, it turns out that Naruto, while strong, was incredibly smart as well, well, not at first, it was more like he soaked up knowledge like a sponge and retain it, of course once he'd settled down he became bored, meaning that he became the pranking prince again, only this time he never got caught, oh sure there was a few "flashes" of yellow because of his hair, which earned him the nickname, "The Yellow Flash-Prankster," which he wore proudly, since the "Yellow Flash" part was the same as his father's moniker.

Thanks to the fox, Naruto found out who his parents were, with the fox saying how it begrudgingly respected them.

As for the fox, it acted as a scarf in order to hide at school, using it's chakra to hide itself from everyone but Naruto, seeing as he was the one walking, anyway, doing this allowed the fox to learn more about the world they were in, after all what better place than a school to gain knowledge, besides the library.

So after the past 3 years, Naruto gained entry into a University, taking a course on science, history and mythology, for some reason he is now interested in the supernatural aspect, ever since arriving to this world, Naruto felt he lost is fear of the supernatural world, he doesn't know why or for what reason that the void "cured" him of such a thing, but, hey, better not being scared of ghosts, than being scared.

Now the 16, turning 17 soon, had changed his appearance, hell he changed his clothes once seeing how people dressed, but now he is wearing a pair of black running trainers, jeans, an orange T-shirt, with a black leather jacket that has 4 pockets and 2 grey strips on the elbow. (A.N. Leon Kennedy Jacket from Resident Evil 6, why not have that jacket in this story, it's a cool jacket never mind the year.)

Also during the past 3 years he hit a growth-spurt, from a short 4.7 foot (145.3cm) to a tall 5.4 foot (166cm) which to Naruto is an okay height for him, since he's still young, meaning he still has some growing left.

Walking down a hallway to his locker, Kurama the fox, having gained the fox's respect from the pranks in high-school, was back at the dorm, having got bored of the school-life, the fox decided to just ether watch telly or use it's chakra to hide itself to venture around the area.

Reaching his locker Naruto opens it, places all his books for the day in it and closed the "lid" on that headache for the time being, laying his back and head against the locker, he thought to himself, "There must be something better than this, I mean, all there is, is study, study and work (sigh.)"

Someone ended up landing next to him, bumping his shoulder as well, "Hey there Naruto, you got that look on your face again."

Turning to the voice, perched on the locker next to him was a girl, about the same age, if not a few months younger than himself, wearing a slight goth-like look, wearing black jeans with a few rips in the knee area, wearing light combat boots, a red shirt tied around her waist by the sleeves, wearing an orange baggy t-shirt that covers her shoulders, wearing a black leather jacket open, that Naruto had before giving it to her as a gift, since his growth-spurt hit him. (A.N. Resident Evil 1st movie, the jacket Alice wears over her red dress, only a wider waist size since it was Naruto's.)

She has long straight black hair, which she keeps down, though it has a slight frizz to it, a slight pale complexion, meaning she doesn't get much sun, minus when she's hanging out with Naruto when he's doing his training and studying, but thanks to Naruto no-one teases her because of her looks anymore.

Naruto giving a relaxed smile, "Oh, hey Lydia, don't mind me, just thinking how boring things are, that's all."

(A.N. That's right~, I'm using a slight different version of Beetlejuice schoolgirl Lydia on here, since both movies were made 80s I thought, why not.)

Lydia, looking slightly upset, "And what does that suppose to mean, have you grown bored of me being in your life too."

Realising his slip-up, Naruto began apologising left, right and centre, that is until he saw the teasing smirk, crossing his arms and giving a huff, he says to her in a whiny voice, "That's so cruel Lydia, here I was worried about my girl being upset with me, yet you end up picking on me."

Another fact about these 2 people is that they knew each other from highschool, where stopped a group of bullies from picking on Lydia, from there the pair became good friends, then when they first entered University together, taking the same classes since both were interested in those things, they started dating each other, keeping it steady, since they didn't want to rush anything.

But thanks to Naruto's outgoing personality and acceptance of her personality, Lydia became more confidant in herself, meaning she can now handle Naruto's rashness.

Giggling slightly at Naruto's childish behaviour, all Lydia did was sneak up next to him and placed a quick kiss on his cheek, surprising him and making him blush since they were out in the open and anyone could see, quickly looking around in case someone saw what she did, luckily they were alone.

Lydia was smiling with a dash of pink on her cheeks, while leaning in close to whisper, "Have you and Kurama figured out how you got here yet Naruto."

That's right, when Naruto and Lydia started becoming best friends in Highschool, after making Lydia swear not to tell anyone, Naruto told her everything, who he really was, where he came from and proving it by introducing Kurama to her, with said fox showing her his 9 tails, back then all she think about is that her best friend, now boyfriend, was a dimension-jumper, she must be the luckiest girl alive to meet someone like that, she also thought it'd make a great movie.

Giving a sigh, Naruto replies, "Sadly no, it's like that trip back then was just a one-off time, not to mention how I can't really do much until my chakra or this weird energy that feels like it's finally stabilising, yet still out of reach, (sigh) I need something to take my mind off of all that for the moment."

Hearing this, Lydia began to think, until her eyes brightened as an idea came to mind, "Hey I know, I've been hearing these strange rumours going around at the New York Public Library, things like books being stacked in the centre of an isle without anyone seeing who did it, along with bookcases falling over, nearly crushing people."

Naruto, looking sceptical, asks, "Are you sure it's not just idiots playing pranks, you know how students tend to take things too far, unlike me who just take things only so far, and you know it so don't give me that look!"

Shrugging, Lydia answered back, "True, but I didn't tell you that no-one was there to do them, there wasn't even anything to rig those things."

Thinking things through, Naruto's face scrunched up, then relaxed a second later, "Ah what the hell, let's have a look, oh I know, how about we tell Dr. Spengler or Dr. Stantz, those guys have always been interested in the supernatural?"

Thinking about it, Lydia just shrugs, though she was disappointed at not investigating like all the others, "Why not, those guys would make the investigation more entertaining, since Dr. Stantz is like a little kid on Christmas."

Naruto smiled at her reply, "Awesome, let's go and tell them about the rumours, who knows, maybe they already heard about it."

With that the couple made there way towards the Dr's room, never knowing that when they reach the door, an excited Dr. Ray Stantz was getting ready to investigate the library, along with Peter Venkman, with Dr. Egon Spengler already at the place.

Sorry if it was too long, but I wanted to get the background of Naruto arriving in New York and everything, I hope you guys understand.

I also hope you like the idea of a partial goth-girl that alomst looks like Lydia from the Beetlejuice movie, mixed with a bit of Sam's personality, minus the ultra-vegetarian, from Danny Phantom, seems like a sound idea for her. (Since both girls are apart of a ghost background.)

Also I figured why not use the 2 jackets from a game and movie with the same dark background, I'm talking about Resident Evil, not Ghostbusters, but Ghostbusters movie has it's own dark background, just not the way Resident Evil is. (To represent how movies and games have updated from the 80's.)

To be honest, I like the 80's Ghostbusters better than the reboot one, don't get me wrong the girls got kinda the right idea, but it didn't have the same impact as the 80's one, with how the originals were funny even when they were serious. R.I.P. Harold Ramis, he was the ultimate Egon.

But I hope you guys enjoyed this story, maybe it'll inspire someone to do their own version, I wish them luck with it.
