Harry Potter nervously paced up and down as he felt his pocket. His heart skipped a beat as he saw a gorgeous girl walking towards him in a sky blue dress. It was Hermione Granger and her usually bushy brown hair was styled beautifully with the sides pinned back.
"Sorry, I'm late Harry," said Hermione as hugged her boyfriend.
Harry returned the hug and took in her rose scent.
"It's alright," said Harry.
"It's beautiful, Harry," said Hermione, admiring the candlelight dinner in front of them.
Harry pulled a chair and sat Hermione down like a gentleman. Throughout dinner, he couldn't take his eyes off her and he could barely pay attention to anything she said. Hermione had been there for him through everything. She understood him just like he understood her. They complemented each other like a well-fitting puzzle. He loved the way he felt when he was with her. No other girl had made him feel that way.
After dinner, Harry suggested they gaze at moon together, pleasantly surprising Hermione as he was usually not such a romantic. They sat by the lake, wetting their feet as they gazed at the moon.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" asked Hermione, with a glowing look on her face.
"Yeah," said Harry, who felt the moon looked particularly splendid that night.
Harry took Hermione's hand in his and she smiled at him. The moonlight shone on her brown eyes, intensifying their beauty. The gazed at each other longingly and he leaned in and pressed his lips on hers. Her free arm crept up his neck as he put his free arm on her shoulder. They pulled apart from the snog, breathless and blushing. Hermione rested her head on Harry's shoulder and he put an arm around her. They cuddled as they continued gazing at the moon. Harry wished they could this way forever, with Hermione in his arm.
It was time for him to ask her. He had to get it over with. He let go of her and looked at her intently. She was staring at him curiously with her beautiful brown eyes.
"Hermione, you're the most beautiful, intelligent and brilliant person that I've ever met. You make me feel whole and I can't imagine a life without you. I never had a real family and I wish that we could start one together," said Harry earnestly.
He looked at Hermione who had tears rolling down her cheek, but her smile and the glow in her eyes told him they were happy tears. He pulled out a red, heart shaped velvet box from his pocket and opened it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
Will you marry me?" he asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yes," said Hermione as she threw her arms around him.
Harry's heart leaped with pleasure at that one beautiful word. They pulled apart and he slipped the ring on her delicate finger. Years from now, Harry would remember this moment as one of the most beautiful moments of his life. The moment Hermione Granger agreed to be his forever.
