Ella and the Fog

High atop lived the beautiful goddess Ella. She had fair tanned skin, green eyes, and dark brown hair. She was the daughter of Zeus, and sister to the wise Athena and the strong willed Artemis. She was lounging in idle on a cloud. All of a sudden she heard a woman screaming her name. Now other gods may have ignored this cry for help, seeing as humans seemed to always be in need, but not Ella. She was the goddess of protection and confusion. And a shape-shifter as well.

Ella protected anyone in need especially women and animals from the brutalities of man by using confusion. She could create images, weapons, obstacles, or even sometimes she would "change". Ella realized that she must be swift and with much haste ran to the sound of the voice till she landed on Earth as graceful as a swan.

It was Diane running from a brute named Ajax. There was a meadow and Ella Spoke to Diane in her mind telling her to run to it. Once Diane was safely behind some bushes that Ella had provided Ella changed her godly body to the image of a mortal. When Ajax burst through the trees screaming, "Where are you my sweet," She called out to him. Ajax looked up and said, "I was just looking for someone like you." "What is it you want", she asked. He came lumbering up to her and tried to grab her but then suddenly she changed into the most fearsome leopard and pinned him down.

"How dare you hunt women like boar only to then violate them? For this you shall pay," she said. "Please", Ajax begged, "don't hurt me." "Coward, like all men you care not when another begs for mercy, but when you're begging like a dog you expect me to give mercy upon you!" "I'm sorry!" he cried. "Not yet!" she screamed back." It was a woman you tried to hurt and now you shall come to my aid for all eternity to help them!"

And with a wave of her hand she turned that "pig" Ajax into a strange hazy mist. After the transformation he tried to persuade Ella into releasing him from his horrible fate. But one day she finally got so fed up that she said, "I swear upon the river Styx that the next time that you beg me to release you, my pet, I shall cast you into the very bowels of Tartarus!" And from then on she no longer heard a single complaint. And that is why to this day we have fog.
