"Katniss," I whisper, being weary at how loud my voice is.

She looks up to the tree I'm perched in and I point to above her, a nest is hanging about three branches above her and she is obviously unaware. I may be wrong, and this nest may be just ordinary wasps but this is indeed the Hunger Games and ordinary isn't the norm. Her brown eyes follow my finger and she realises there's a nest she mouths something to me that I cannot quite catch and she makes a sawing motion with her hand, I realise what she means, some way or another Katniss is going to try and cut down the nest. I bit my bottom lip and gaze down at the sick Careers, there's four of them altogether, not including another girl and the boy from Karnes's District. How could he betray Katniss, actually no? I rephrase that, how could he betray his District. Joining the Careers is sick and twisted, hence the reason I have so much respect for Thresh, he turned down the Careers offer even when it meant getting a better shot of winning the Games.

I take a deep breath and take one last look at Katniss she's sat perfectly still in the tree, probably waiting for the Careers to fall asleep, I take a deep breath and jump from the tree, my hands extending as I grab the branch of another tree, I haul myself up into the new tree and repeat these moves over and over again until I can no longer see Katniss or the Careers, just the dim glow of their campfire. I open my backpack that I managed to snatch from the Cornucopia and pull out the cotton socks I pull them over my hands and use them for warmth, I fall asleep in the tree and for once the first time ever I feel safe in the arena, belted high up in a tree where no-one or nothing can get me, well Katniss could easily get up here and kill me if she wanted to but for some strange reason I have a feeling she doesn't want me dead, yet. I'm sure when the time comes Katniss or someone else will kill me, and 'm sure I'll kill just like everyone else is.

My dreams are not dreams at all in fact they are nightmares, nightmares of my youngest sister Biryani, being reaped for the Games and the disturbing image of a boy much older than her slitting her throat open with a sword, blood splatters everywhere, up on the trees, the ground she's lying on even the water turns crimson red with her blood. I wake up in a cold sweat and I realise its morning, I hear a crash followed by screams, I hear people running beneath me.

"To the lake, to the lake!" A male voice screams

I smirk; the Careers have woken up to a full scale tracker-jacker attack. Serves them right, I gaze down to see one girl collapse to the floor, too much venom in her bloodstream has caused her to collapse; she'll be dead in no time. I leap from tree to tree back to the place I warned Katniss. I see her, clutching a silver bow and arrow, I hear a rustle in the bushes and I cover my eyes fearing for the worse.

"Katniss, Katniss run!" I hear a voice scream

I remove my hands to see Peeta, pushing her away. Katniss is running away. I follow her by leaping from tree to tree.

Maybe that Peeta isn't so bad after all. Katniss collapses and I realise she too has been stung, I must help her. I find leaves that cure Tracker-Jacker stings and place them where she has been bit, she'll be better soon. Hopefully,
