"Michael, I can't do this anymore. I love you to death, but, I need to find my dreams. I need to know who I am. This me, isn't the real me Michael. I just...can't." Maria acknowledges this with her hands. Michael just stared at her, dumbfounded.
"Then, are you ever coming back to me? Wait, are you...are you leaving?" Michael was about to beg, but his manly pride kept him from, doing so.
"I don't know Michael. I want to go to New York and pursue my singing career. You know when Alex was still alive, we were singing and trying to make up songs. I want to try that again, if I can." Maria was almost to tears. If Michael found out the real truth for her leaving him, then she would have to leave him.
"Maria, please don't do this. It's...we can work it out, I promise. Please Maria?" Michael's eyes told her what she wanted to know, but to no avail did it do him.
"Bye Michael." If Michael said one more thing to her, she would stop. 'Just walk away Maria,' she though to herself. She turned around and walked quickly to her car. 'Okay Maria, almost there. You just have to get in the car, and not look back. Don't look Maria, don't look.' Her mind told her to get away, but her heart betrayed her and it wanted her to stay with Michael. 'It just won't be the same without Michael. At least you already packed your stuff, it'll save you even more of a heartache. Thank goodness I only took one picture of Micahel with me, instead of all of our memorabilia,' she thought. She got into her car, and reared it into gear, and tore off along the road, and took the quickest way to get to I-40, the shortest distance to get to the East Coast.
