Kyo was sitting on the roof. He was thinking of Tohru again. He knew that she loved the rat and not him. He was always in a bad mood, but when he saw Tohru… he was so relaxed… He shook his head. /What am I thinking? Tohru loves the rat. Maybe if I defeat Yuki she will like me more than him…/ He heard Tohru calling him inside. He jumped off the roof and walked inside. She looked so sad. "Kyo… Yuki… Shigure… I must leave…I'm sorry." Kyo was taken back. She was leaving? Why? /She can't! I never told her… I was so cold to her…/ the cat walked outside.

Tohru was walking down the street. Kyo saw her and walked up to her. "Hey Kyo." "Tohru…I… I'm…sorry…." "Sorry for what?" The cat looked into her eyes and bit his lip. "Never mind! Forget it! Just leave!" He stormed off. Tohru looked at him so confused. /What's was that about? / She thought as she continued walking.

Kyo got home and realized what he had done. /Stupid! I'm so stupid! / The cat went back to the roof. He heard someone come up behind him. It was Yuki. "What rat?" "You miss Tohru. I know you won't be the same without her. I won't either." "Whatever." /It hurts to know that he is right. I had lied to Tohru about my feelings.

Flashback

Tohru had asked Kyo if her liked her. "Why would I like you?" "I ….I juts thought that…. Maybe…" "Go away would you! I can't stand to look at you!" Tohru walked off and Kyo began to cry to himself. /I am just an idiot. /

End Flashback

/I never meant to be cold Tohru. I never really did…/ the cat thought as he remembered her voice. /Will you ever see the real me? /

/I never wanted you to see that side of me. I wanted you to know the sweet side of me. / With that thought, Kyo climbed down from the roof and ran after Tohru. He knew she was probably at Uo-chan 's place. He was huffing and puffing when he reached her house. "Tohru!!!!" I knew she heard me. I saw her come out. "Kyo-Kun?" "Tohru I need to talk to you." "What is it?" "I never wanted you to see my screwed up side. I wanted…. I wanted to love you. I do love you. I never meant to be so cold…I never wanted you to leave… I guess that there is no hope for me since you and Yuki are in love." "I'm sorry Kyo… I do love Yuki." " I never meant to be so cold…" The cat walked off. He never saw Tohru again or Yuki.

Epilouge

A few months later, Kyo' s picture was in the paper. Under his picture it read; Kyo Sohma, 16 committed suicide. His cousin Yuki Sohma found him. He had a letter in his hand. The only thing it said was "I never meant to be so cold." Tohru began to cry when she read that. Yuki comforted her. "It's okay Tohru. Don't worry." Yuki kissed her on the forehead. "It was my fault though." "Don't worry… The cat deserved it." Tohru left the comfort of Yuki's presence to cry over her mistake.
