Corel Highway
I used to work for a huge company named Shinra. I designed several of their instillations; I even had a few jobs working on their weapons. But all that changed after Avalanche interfered. Not long after that, a huge meteor fell from the skies. We thought all was lost, but miraculously, the only place harmed was Midgar. Though we survived, for all intense and purposes, Shinra was gone, and wasn't coming back. With that in mind I knew I needed to get a new job. So that's why I am here in the Corel Mountains. A private company recently hired me; apparently someone funded a highway to be built between North Corel and the mountains.
The old reactor was shut down. After Midgar was destroyed, most of the other reactors went out of commission as well. We're really coming along with the job. We've gotten as far as the old railroad. It is here that we reach our own personal crossroads. Whether to tear down the rails, or just continue building. Time went on, we decided to build off to the side of the rails. They have too much history to this land. Corel has been through a lot in the short century it has existed. An empire of it's own if I do say so myself.
Now we have reached the old bridge. I was surprised to see that it still had an electrical power system. We continued building off to the side. Our job will be done soon. We met a middle-aged man living inside a small cave in the mountain. He had a bulldozer with him that he offered to use to help us expand the highway in exchange for some gil. He was very happy to be able to help; he claims he hasn't had much work in years since the Corel disaster all those years ago.
And so we go on. It seems we've come to another bridge. It's very rickety but some how; trains were able to pass over it without knocking it down. We didn't want to take our chances. We build a bridge across the gorge. Now any and all can come and go through the Corel Mountains as they please.
This will be good for both Costa de Sol and that casino amusement park, whatever the hell its name is. I never was that big into attractions such as those. After this job I've got myself a nice chunk of change. Maybe I should relax for a while, check out that Golden Saucer, or whatever the hell it's called.
My next job? It is yet to be seen. Perhaps I'll go across the rive and see if I can get work in that jungle town that went up in flames during that reactor melt down a few years ago. Who knows what sort of work I could get over there. All and all, I know now, we can make it to Corel if we want.
