Unlocked Doors

"Okay, that creepy laughter of yours either means, one, that you're totally cool with what just happened and we can resume, or two, and it's probably two I'm guessin', you're horribly mortified and we're done for the night."

Kimiko shot him a glare, but nonetheless paused, her laughter dwindling to a tense sigh. She took a large intake of breath and nestled the blankets more snugly under her chin. "The second one, definitely the second one. Though I'm sure I'll find… stronger words to describe it after the initial shock wears off."

Raimundo chuckled, light and genuinely amused. "I figured as much," he rolled onto his stomach and reached his arm over the bed to fish for his boxers. "You always know how to use words better than I do."

"Yeah, but what use is that if I can't lock doors..." she muttered, covering her face with both hands.

A gentle kiss to her temple sent a flutter through her chest. "Aw Kimi, it's okay, accidents happen." Warm, calloused hands settled over her shoulders and massaged the tight muscles. "Well, not to me of course, since I'm so handsomely perfect. Or perfectly handsome. Either way."

"Oh please," Without turning an inch, she stretched her arm backwards and shoved Raimundo straight in the chest. "Since when did the definitions of 'accident', 'handsome,' and 'perfect' so dramatically change?"

"Ouch that hurts girl," he joked, placing a hand over his heart. "And here I was just trying to lighten the mood."

"Mmph," she intoned, though admittedly, a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. She heard the rustle of crumpled bed sheets and his footfalls towards the door.

"Ah, I see what happened here. You pushed the lock in, but the door wasn't closed all the way so it didn't lock," Raimundo observed, bumping his back against the door until he heard an audible click. "Well, I mean Chrome-dome still shoulda knocked. But now I bet he won't forget to..."

Kimiko groaned and wished that she could have reeled back Omi's innocence like a fish on a hook. "Poor Omi...we ruined him."

"Ruined him? It ain't our fault that he probably still believes babies come from white birds in the sky. I tried introducing him to um, female anatomy before but that didn't−"

"I'm going to have to stop you right there, Rai," Kimiko deadpanned. "I don't know how you're so casual about this, I'm so embarrassed."

Raimundo shrugged. "Well, at least we didn't actually start."

"Rai."

"And you still had your underwear on so it's not like it's anything too different from your beach bikini."

"Rai..."

"I was the only one actually naked but you were, err, 'helping me cover up' so it's−"

"Raimundo!" A pillow slammed into said Brazilian's face before flopping to the floor with a thump. He laughed heartily; he couldn't help that he absolutely adored seeing his girlfriend blush.

"And for Dashi's sake put on some clothes! Or at least your boxers," she grumbled, although he noted with a smirk that her eyes didn't stray away.

Raimundo stopped twirling his boxers around his index finger and clasped them into his palm. "Just taking my time in case you decided we could−"

"No," she flatly stated.

"Right right," he obeyed, slipping into his underwear. His eyes roamed back to Kimiko, still curled up into a ball under a cocoon of blankets. Raimundo plopped into bed next to her, threading his fingers through her hair. Soft and silky− like her hair was inked in by a calligraphy brush's plump, felt tip.

"Hey...don't worry Kimiko, you know I love you right?" He pressed closer to her to peck a trail of kisses onto her creamy back. "The reason I don't feel so embarrassed is because we were just expressing our love, and I don't care who sees it. All that matters is you."

The Dragon of Fire remained silent for some time, and Raimundo began to panic, wracking his brain for what he could have said wrong. He was pleasantly surprised, however, when Kimiko abruptly flipped around and nuzzled his nose. "You are so... cheesy," she settled on, and then giggled at his immediate pout.

Before he could get in a word of protest, she closed the space between them by kissing him firmly on the lips. "But um well, I...I love you too," she whispered, and then cuddled into his chest before he could see her face inflame. The downside? She missed the goofy grin that threatened to split Raimundo's face in two as he tightened his hold on her.

"We're lucky it wasn't Master Fung instead..."
