Exiakaiser: Hello and welcome to a new series- Aldnoah. Zero: Knight of the Moon. This series came out because of two reasons. The first is that I like the Gundam series. And After War Gundam X was just an awesome series to watch, with its compelling story, amazing mecha, and the characters were not one-dimensional.
Second reason: Aldnoah. Zero kinda reminds me of a Gundam series. That means it follows the same tropes and plot- Mankind fighting mankind, tons of character development, main hero and rival fight each other at some point, etc. This led me to design this series.
However, since this series will take place in the world of Aldnoah. Zero, a few things are gonna be changed, starting with the pilot:
Name: Kogane Onigami
Alias: The Bloody Demon of Justice, The Knight of the Moon, The Demon of Shinjuku
Mecha: GX-9900 "Gundam X" series.
Age: 19 years of age
Physical features: 5'11" tall, blonde hair and blue eyes. He usually wears a Mecha pilot suit, in this case a full suit with a built-in airbag for the head, and a throat radio, as he calls it.
Personality: Is kindhearted and respectful. In battle will only go berserk when a certain number of his allies are killed in front of him.
O.C.C: Test Pilot for 'Project G', and one of the best test pilots of the GX-9900.
History and military record: Kogane was enlisted as a test pilot for Project straight out of high school, where he earned the rank of PFC after proving his skills outside of the field by testing the mecha used by the earth forces. Then, after e saved the life of one of his senior officers during the invasion of the Vers Empire in 2014, he was transferred to 'Project G', a secret government project to utilize a new type of mech to take out the Martian mecha, codenamed Kataphrakts. However, the base was targeted by the Vers Army, and that is where this story begins.
Now, before we even begin explaining this series, let me start by explaining something. The GX-9900 had to be changed from a machine powered by a microwave station on the moon to a mecha with a solar powered weapon and a normal energy source. This is mostly to keep the story of Aldnoah. Zero intact, seeing as how during the last war in that series, the moon was trashed. Because of this, Card Golem, my usual partner in series of this magnitude, suggested we pull a Maoh from Build Fighters, and make the Gundam X's Satellite Buster a solar-powered weapon. This also explains why the chapter features an ongoing weather report each day.
At the same time, this series is a stand-alone side story as well, not taking the same route of the series.
In addition, since the Gundam X is an advanced prototype, it will be able to take on enemy units more effectively, mostly because the First War was a chance for the scientists to learn some of the abilities of Aldnoah, a unique technology, as I see it. Because of this, Kogane and the rest of the heroes of this series, of which there are three, two of which will show up later in the series, will be able to attack and fight the Martian Kataphrakts with more intel on how their barriers and weapons work. Because of this, the Gundam X, Airmaster, and Leopard are classified Anti-Aldnoah weapons.
Also, this series seems to have a lack of basic troop mecha, as well as an entire story. Because of this, I realized I had my work cut out for me so I decided to expand and enlarge the world to be more interesting. This included adding mecha from Gundam X, giving more of a back story as to the characters in this series over the course of the series, and adding special character interactions that expanded the series in more than one way. This evens the odds, allowing me to create new battle scenes each chapter, starting from the beginning, and ending in chapter 39, like with Gundam X.
However, there will still be moments where the main character and his fellow survivors, the self-proclaimed 'Knights of Earth', cross paths with Inaho and his fellows. Kogane even meets the princess, allowing him to begin his investigation into the events that lead to the full-scale war, and find the main instigator of this horrid war.
However, it is now time to get things started.
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANY CHARACTERS OTHER THAN THOSE CREATED JUST FOR THIS SERIES. ALDNOAH. ZERO IS COPYRIGHT OLYMPUS KNIGHTS, AND ANIPLEX OF AMERICA. GUNDAM X IS COPYRIGHT BANDAI AND SUNRISE.
"Enemy attack," called out a voice over the airwaves. The year was 2014, and the Vers Empire had begun an assault against Earth. Landing Castles were sighted making landfall in the major cities. That was yesterday, labeled the beginning of the Second Martian War. Their next move was to cut communications, sowing chaos in every part of the planet, and then destroy any easy resistance.
Today, however, the Martians were reinforcing their hold on the planet, attacking military bases left and right. However, most of it was focused around the major cities they had already taken.
That was until one of the enemy Kataphrakts spotted a base out in the middle of the countryside. This was the testing base for the Top Secret 'Project G' weapons site.
Kogane was still asleep at home, unaware that the base he was working at had been laid to waste. He lived far off to the east and rode a motorcycle to the base, about 30 miles away.

Kogane was upset, for good reason. He had just come into work, for his usual test flights, to see the smoldering remains of the Project G Base. Everyone he knew, and grew to respect, were dead, their bodies lain out in a line to put fear into people. However, Kogane was not afraid, more upset. He had lost everything in that fire.
"What the hell," he said, then he heard a beeping. He pulled off his backpack, which carried the Gundam Star Controller, his change of clothes, and his lunch. The Controller was flashing, which meant the GX-9900 Test Prototype was still functional. He went down to the hangar, where the test types were being studied, developed, and put through trial runs against unique technologies.
When he got there, he saw the GX-9900-T, as it was being called, laying on the trailer he used to transport it from the hangar to the testing grounds. It was still intact, as was two of the five prototypes still in the hangar. However, he noticed the Ashtaroth was missing, probably stolen or worse. Kogane then heard a banging sound and went to investigate it.
To the south of the GX, there was a door in the floor, built as the entrance to a bomb shelter, incase someone decided to attack the base with anything short of a doomsday bomb. Kogane opened the door, to find a small group of test pilots and maintenance crew. There was Ace, the pilot of the Airmaster Prototype, as it was being called, and Dash, the original Versago Test pilot turned Leopard Pilot.
"Good to see someone was still alive to get s out of here," said Ace, who did have a mouth on him. "What took you so long, boss?"
"Was asleep," said Kogane, "Was up late last night studying the test data from the day before. Anyway, give me a sitrep. How bad is it?"
"Not as bad as it could have been," said Dash, "We were able to secure the three that remain as well as the Hover carrier, but the Ashtaroth and was taken. Then they fired missiles designed to destroy the area. We managed to hold out and keep the three remaining Kataphrakts in here, and then holed up in here."
"That was yesterday," said Ace. "How did you get in here?"
"Luckily for me," said Kogane, "the place is now just a smoldering ring. Was able to get most of the burned remains lifted away using my hands."
"Good," said Ace, "Now, let's get those Units loaded into the hover carrier before they come back."
"You sure they are gonna come back," said Dash, "They did stop at nothing till the place was just a wreck."
"Trust me," said Ace, "They always come back."
-Meanwhile-
"I am the most unlucky person in this army," said Draken, in his landing castle. "Have you heard anything from the other knights?"
"No sir," said one of the officers on the bridge, "But I am picking up a heat signature coming from the base your men trashed yesterday."
"It would figure that, even though it's still a smoldering wreck," said Draken, "That is would still give off a heat signature."
"Not like this," said the officer, "It's weird because its moving."
"Well, why didn't you say so," said Draken, "Send out a 3-Kataphrakt squad to investigate. Nothing special, just a trio of Daughtress'."
"Sir," said one of the other officers, "We just spotted the princess and a Terran in a small city to the north of the heat signature."
Draken was now officially lost in thought. "Alright then," he then said, change of plans. We take care of the princess first."
-Meanwhile-
"Is everything ready for launch," asked Kogane, sitting in his Gundam.
"Yes, sir," said Mina, the operator of the new Hover Carrier. "However, we have yet to name this machine."
"How about 'Burning Ace'," suggested, Ace.
"Eh," said Mina, "Too stupid."
"How about," said Kogane, "The Liberation?"
The group thought it over and said, "The Liberation it is, boss. Your orders?"
"Let's just get underway," said Kogane, "I have an itchy trigger finger and I can't wait to crush those Martins for attacking our homes."
All of a sudden, the rubble that was the hangar fell away, revealing a white hover-transport. It was white and had 2 front cannons, 5 CWZ anti-air support cannons, and 3 rear cannons. These were to defend the carrier in case of attack. This was the prototype mobile carrier, the Liberation.
All of a sudden, the alarms went off. "Sir," said Mina, "We have 3 bogeys on radar. They seem to be attacking a car. What are your orders?"
"Calm down, Mina," said Kogane, "First, take a look at your screen, and identify the type."
"Mobile weapon," said Mina, looking at the radar reading, "Identity matches the type that attacked the base."
"Then hold back," said Kogane, placing the GX-9900 control device in its socket. "These are mine."
All of a sudden, the GX-9900 came to life in The Liberation's Mech Hangar. "GX-9900," said Mina, ready for launch at your command."
"Ops," said Kogane, "Let's use a different name as the call sign for the units. How about Gundam?"
"Alright," said Mina, "From now, all units in the bay are classified as Gundam. Gundam X, as soon as the doors open, you are free to launch at your discretion."
"Roger that, ops," said Kogane, standing up in the Gundam X. The doors in front of him opened, he then said, "Kogane Onigami in the Gundam X, Launching!"
The Gundam X lifted off from the hangar and vaulted forward. It was mostly blue and white with red and yellow in certain areas. On its back was a strange cannon and what looked like a 'X'-shaped fin. The fin was opened and it seemed to be the propulsion system, as the Gundam X was vaulted forward.
"Your mission objective," said Mina, "Will be to destroy the 3 Kataphrakts."
"Understood," said Kogane, "Will maintain radio silence until the mission is completed. Mission start."
-Meanwhile-
"We have the targets sighted," said one of the Daughtress Pilots. "Targets are heading further into the facility." The three Pilots were tailing a young man and woman in a car. The young man was wearing a combat suit, while the girl was wearing a ceremonial garb.
"We get the princess," said another pilot, "We will get a battlefield promotion for sure." However, all of a sudden, his radar went off, "Enemy attack, sir, Bearing… That can't be right."
"What is it, lieutenant," asked the third pilot, confused.
"It says the enemy is right above us…," said the lieutenant before he was struck with what looked like a particle beam from directly above him.
"One down," said Kogane, "Now, time to take out the others." His target viewer was in heat vision mode, and he was tracking two Kataphrakts and a car. He set his sights on the second Kataphrakt. When he heard a beeping signal, he squeezed the GX-9900 control stick's trigger. This sent a signal to the right hand of the unit, which pulled the trigger. This sent an electrical signal to the energy exciter in the beam rifle, which sent a charged shot down the barrel.
"ARRRGH," said the second of the pilots.
"Dammit," said the last survivor, "How is he doing that? Switching to cold air release." With that, a blast of steam flew out of the unit.
"Clever move, Martian pilot," said Kogane over the loudspeaker. "However, you will not live to teach it to others." With that, the GX-9900 appeared behind the Daughtress, reached onto its back, and pulled out its beam saber, and stabbed the machine in the back, piercing the cockpit and killing the pilot.
-Meanwhile-
"Who was that," asked Assleyum, first princess of the Vers Empire.
"I don't know," said Inaho, tuning the radio that was built into the car.
"This is Gundam X to Liberation," said Kogane, "Mission complete. Returning via land line for debriefing." With that, they watched as the giant mecha started walking away.
"Shall we follow them," asked the princess.
"Sure," said Inaho, turning the vehicle and driving after the Gundam.
-Later-
"And that ends my report," said Kogane, finishing his debriefing.
"So this was no ordinary attack," said Mina, "That explains the trio. But, tell me something. Why am I acting captain?"
"Because," said Ace, "Kogane is a pilot, and only wants to do just that. He is not really command material. His words, not mine."
All of a sudden, a klaxon went of. "We got an intruder in the port side," said Dash. He said he wanted to talk to the pilot of the White unit."
"What the hell," said Kogane, running out of the flight deck. 2 minutes later, he turned the corner to see Inaho and a strange girl with blonde hair in front of him. "So it was you," said Kogane, putting his saidearm away. "Stand down, Dash," he then said, "They are with me."
"Who are you guys," asked the princess.
"We are just a group of test pilots who were attacked by your empire's knights," said Kogane. "I am Kogane Onigami, the pilot of the machine that saved your behinds."
"Wait a minute," said Inaho, "You wouldn't happen to be the legendary Test Ace of the UEF's Sigma Class, would you?"
"That is behind me," said Kogane, "Now I am just a guy fighting to survive. Plus, I am just a test pilot with Project G."
"Commander," said Dash, "That is no longer relevant. We are all that is left."
"True," said Kogane, sighing in annoyance. "Guess you can call us the Knights of the Earth, your Highness."
"How did you know," Assleyum asked, confused.
"Saw you on the news yesterday," said Kogane, "I have a very strong Photographic Memory, so I can remember faces and people."
The four walked up to the bridge, where Kogane introduced the group. They then began heading towards Shinjuku, where Kogane had heard of rumours of large-scale fighting in the city. The journey would be a day, mostly because they were in Kyushu.
-Later-
"Our mission is one of justice," said Saazbaum via a satellite frequency. "We will destroy the terran enemy for the murder of our beloved princess."
"Now hold on just a minute," said Kogane, interrupting Saazbaum's speech. "Justice, you say? This is bad comedy."
"What the," said Saazbaum, "Who the hell are you, and why are you interrupting my speech?"
"I am Kogane Onigami," said Kogane, "And you will know my name soon enough. As to the reason I interrupted you little speech, it's really quite simple. You talk justice, but your voice hides the truth. You are a warmonger, wanting nothing more than genocide. You say you act with the interests of your world in mind? I say to thee nay, thou doest not."
"How dare you," said Saazbaum, "I will make you pay for this, Terran scum."
"Bring it anytime, Vers Knight Prick," said Kogane, "The Knights of the Earth will be waiting for you." With that, Kogane disappeared.
"Was that really necessary," said Dash, annoyed.
"Absolutely," said Kogane. We need to draw out the enemy and make him pay for what they have started.
"But still," said Ace, "The Knights of the Earth? That is a cool name."
"I know, right," said Mina, impressed, "But, the question is, do we still go to Shinjuku after that exchange?"
"Of course," said Kogane, "This just means we will be fighting every inch."
-Meanwhile-
"Yes, milord," said Draken, shutting off the intercom. He then turned to the soldiers and said, "Change of plans. Instead of joining the battle at Shinjuku, we are heading to Kyushu. We are to personally to take on the Knights of the Earth."
-Later that night-
All of a sudden, a computer on Kogane's desk lit up. On it appeared a message:
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR VICTORY, SOLDIER.
$500 HAS BEEN ADDED TO YOUR ACCOUNT.
SPEND IT WISELY.

Well, hope you all enjoy this story. While I wrote this chapter, I was suffering a cold, so I apologize if it took a long while to get this chapter done.
Now, if you have questions or comments, please send them via the comments section. I will accept any ideas for battle scenes as well.
