Skin
You think you know...but you have no idea
They look at you and they all think, you must be happy and better off
So they can all sit back and scoff, taking you for whats skin deep
Never trying or caring to think, that there is something deeper than
What they think you are
They can jest and jeer, but they dont deal with your fear
Thinking that you think your better, but they are unchained by your fetters
Ignoring your blood, sweat, and tears, they hide their inadequacy
By making fun of the travesties
Only skin deep, is how far they see, ignoring all your tired pleas
Never listening to you cries, they would cheer as they watched you die
But you would never think, to judge anothers worth, by their skin
Even though they measure you
Trying to make it though, another day, they still mock you
They dont try to understand, the pain you feel, its like contraband
And they never think to help you through, because of your powers
Alienated too
Oh, to your face they are nice, all smiles and handshakes, speaking like
They dont read papers, or buy into the hype
But you can see right through them, because their sincerity
Its just another disparity
This junkyard town, this battered dump, it needs you still
So you dont get up, and walk away like you should do
All because they still need you, but maybe one day
You can leave
But for now, youll stay stuck here, labeled, hated, and fairly feared
Knowing your powers set you apart, and its tears at your heart
Knowing the town that you love, sends back its love
To you in the form of a snub
Authors note- ok so its not the best but I tried...I know I know its not dark
and its not really good either but I have a take home math test and 2 take
home math quizzes due tomorrow and I suk at math. Gomen nasi! Ill let you
interpret your own ideas and opinion about this poem, all I ask its that
