Well.. this is pretty much my first.. -good- KH fic... hope it's not too bad and please excuse any spelling/grammer errors.. wordpad doesn't have spell check :P

I own none of the characters.. or anything about Kingdom Hearts.. Just this fic.. that's all ;.;

My eyes fluttered open. I looked over at the clock, which read '7:57.'

"Shit! I'm gonna be late!" I jumped out of bed and hurriedly threw some clothes on.

Running out of the room, I almost ran right into my best friend.

"Ah-Riku? What're you doin' here?"

He smirked at me.

"I came to make sure you were up for school." he looked me up and down, as if studying me. "You're not really going to school like that, are you?"

I looked down at myself. No wonder he had such a strange look on his face. I had put on a pair of blue and white plaid shorts that came to right above my knees and a red shirt with a silver crown in the middle of it. I put a hand behind my head and laughed nervously.

"No.. I was just.. coming out here.. to.. get some breakfast.. before I got dressed.."

"You still haven't eaten? Geez.. We can eat at school.. Get your clothes on and let's go!"

I ran back to my room and, forgetting to close my door, started to quickly get undressed. It was only after I had my shirt and shorts off and was standing there in nothing but my boxers that I heard a soft chuckle behind me. I looked back towards the door. Riku was leaning against the doorframe, grinning at me.

"Do you -mind-, Riku?"

"Not at all, please continue." he said casually before snickering again.

I growled and closed the door quickly and then proceeded to get my school clothes on. After I got into a pair of black shorts and a gray t-shirt, I slipped my crown necklace around my head. I grabbed my bag on the way to the door.

Throwing open the door, I rushed right past Riku and nearly got to the front door when I felt a hand on my arm. I spun around quickly.

"Riku!! I forgot you were here! You nearly scared me to death!!!"

Riku looked truly hurt. I knew he was faking, but that face... it got me everytime.

"I didn't mean to!! I was hurrying to get dressed and worried about being late for school and all so-"

He cut me off with a finger to my lips and he brought his hand up to my hip. (LOL I'm a poet! XD XD) I opened my mouth to say something more, but his finger was replaced with his lips.

My eyes widened considerably, as you can probably imagine. This was extremely surprising. ...Notice I haven't said anything about being disgusted? Well, there's a reason for that.. see, I liked him. A lot. And I had for about, two years. But I was surprised because, well, I didn't think he liked me. Oh, how wrong I had been.

I could tell I had been wrong by the way he kept his hand on my hip and put his other one on my waist. I could tell by the way he kissed me so gently. The way he looked into my eyes after the kiss ended.

My face turned extremely red after this, as you can well imagine. I probably looked embarrassed, but I wasn't! Just.. surprised. But, Riku took my blush as embarrassment and turned away from me.

"Riku.. is.. something wrong..?"

"Sora.. I'm sorry.." he said quietly before turning to leave.

I reached out and grabbed his sleeve to get him to stop. He pulled away from my grip and walked out the front door.

Well, that's chapter one!!! Hope you like it! I certainly enjoyed writing it. I know it's short, and all of them probably will be, but I'm kinda stuck on the moment.. I have like.. three fics I'm working on, and I wanted to get something posted here.. so yeah.. Hope you like it!
