A/N: Hi! This is a joint account, so this is MY first attempt at a fanfiction. I apologize if they're OOC, because I'm still adjusting to writing a character I haven't made up. Please, if you're going to review, add some constructive criticism so I can get better at writing. Thanks! _

Thunder crashed and the entire house shook. The weather had been bad all week, but this storm was the worst of them yet. Draco sat in the dark, a small circle of light from his wand the only light in the house; the power had been knocked out long ago.
A flash of lightning illuminated the room, and Draco saw a little blond boy staring at him, waiting for him to realize he was there. "Daddy," Scorpius said, knowing Draco knew where he was now, "do you know where mommy is?"
Draco picked up the five year old, "I don't know Scorp. Why don't you wait with Rose in her room and I'll send her in when I find her."
Scorpio nodded and ran into his sister's room when his dad set him down.
Draco wandered around the house, calling for his wife. He was glad he agreed on a small house, because it only took him 5 minutes to make it to the kitchen and see her through the window.
"'Mione?"
She was sitting with her face up towards the sky, eyes closed, letting the rain hit her face. Draco doubted she knew she was soaked. A smile crept up on his face. She didn't seem to know he was there; she was so lost in her thoughts.
"Hermione, love, why are you sitting in the middle of the worst storm Europe's had in 20 years?" He asked, sitting down across from her.
She finally looked down. Her curly hair was plastered to her face and she smiled at him, "Because of the rain."
Draco chuckled, "The rain?"
"Yes, the wonderful rain." she seemed wistful, unlike his normal Hermione.
"Will you be coming in soon? Your soaked and probably getting hypothermia."
She didn't answer, just looked back up. A few minutes of comfortable silence passed between them before Hermione responded, "I always loved the rain. My mum and I would play in it for ours when I was young. If the storm got too bad we sit by the fire and talk until it passed, then go puddle jumping."
"That's why you're freezing half to death? So you can reminisce? You can do that indoors, by the nice warm fire. Please, Hermione. Come in."
She shook her head, "No. For me, it represents a new beginning. This rain will water all the grass, trees, and flowers. Then we can officially call this season spring. About time too; it's the middle of April. I want to be here to watch."
"'Mione, I hate to break it to you, but this is hail." Draco said, flicking snow off his arm, "Can you come in now?"
"I don't know…" she frowned, "If I close my eyes…I can pretend its rain."
Draco sighed, she was so stubborn sometimes, "I didn't want to have to play this card, but Scorpio is looking for you."
Hermione gave him a puppy dog face, "5 more minutes?"
Draco thought about it. No, in 5 more minutes she might die from the cold or drown. The lawn was already slowly flooding with water.
"I'm sorry, love. This is for your own good," with that, he grabbed her around the waist, picked her up off the chair, and carried her inside.
