Abduction
Chapter 1
Paige Hyland. A bullied, broken soul. She just wanted to dance; it was her one and only passion. She barely had any friends; her only friends were the girls at dance. Paige was one of the sweetest, caring and loving girls you would ever meet and she had no idea as to why she was so bullied and tormented.
Everyone at her school dealt with the normal hate every now and then but things were starting to change quite a bit for Paige. She started getting tons of hate letters and threats, she was scared. The only person who knew about all this hate was her best friend, Chloe Lukasiak. Chloe is also a dancer at Lightening Dance Studio along with Paige.
The only two places Paige felt safe were home and the dance studio, she was dancing whenever she could with Chloe, those two barely ever left the studio. It was their home. Chloe helped Paige express all her sadness, fear and emotions through a dance that they choreographed by themselves a couple years back and now whenever Paige felt like she needed to break down and just cry, she would dance. Dance until the fear and all the pain had left her soul. Some days, dancing just wasn't enough and Paige needed that shoulder to cry on that Chloe provided for her. Chloe always made her feel better, but she was scared for Paige.
Chloe wasn't Paige's only friend, so she wasn't completely alone. Two other close friends from dance and school were Kendall and Maddie, whom she walked to school with. Kendall used to always get ready with Paige in the mornings, all the way back in Kindergarten. There was a sudden stop to their daily routines on one cold January morning ten years ago when Paige had gotten shocking news. A police officer had knocked on her door and her grandma who was staying with her, opened the door just to find out that Paige's dad, her grandma's son, had been killed in war. "Hi, Paige?" "Yes. Officer?" "I am very sorry to inform you about the death of Mr. Paul Hyland, who wasn't able to fight through two fatal wounds to the chest and leg, my condolences." Paige's grandma, Patricia broke down in tears. Paige, being only six years of age, was very confused, angry, sad and frightened. Of course she hadn't gone to school that day or at all for the next week or so, so she just told Kendall she wasn't feeling too well. Chloe was the only one of her friends who knew, as she was very close to the Hyland's she was crying as well.
Kendall had no idea about the passing of Paul for a whole nine years until Paige finally decided to tell her last year, while in tears. Kendall had an information bomb dropped on her right there when Paige told her why she doesn't have her over anymore. "(*sobs*) Kendall, I'm so sorry I never told you this before but about three years ago, seven years after my dad passed, I lost my grandma to heart disease, it was a hard time and I had nowhere to go. I couldn't stay at my home by myself, since my mother passed away due to cancer when I was two. Chloe took me in and—just everything at the time was too heartbreaking and it was so hard… I'm sor-sorry." "Honey, oh my gosh it's fine! I understand and Paige I love you so much just remember you always have me. No matter what, don't be afraid to call me or anything no matter the situation. I'll be there."
