"Noah!"
Noah Desari sighed heavily at the sound of his wife's call, pressing his fingers to his temples. He loved the woman to death, but all he had wanted to do was finish the paperwork he had been working on all day. Sadly, his wife kept interrupting him. Noah stood and walked out to the living room, where his wife Blaineley was relaxing on the couch, rubbing her swollen belly absently.
Noah and Blaineley were surprised when they had discovered that Blaineley was pregnant, and even more surprised when they learned that Blaineley was carrying twins. The doctor ordered Blaineley, currently seven months pregnant, to relax as much as she could until the babies arrived. Unfortunately, this meant that she needed Noah very often. Noah loved caring for her, but this grew to be an extreme burden when she began disrupting his work time. Noah walked over to where his wife lay.
"Yes Blaineley?" Noah asked softly. The blonde woman looked up at her husband with her big blue eyes.
"Can you get me some ice cream?" she asked him. Noah forced a smile.
"Sure sweetie. Chocolate?"
"Yes please," Blaineley replied softly. Noah filled a big bowl with chocolate ice cream and brought it out to his wife, before walking away towards his office. "Wait!" Blaineley called after him. Noah fought back his anger and spoke calmly.
"Yes dear?" Noah asked, turning slowly. Blaineley sat up and patted the spot beside her on the couch.
"You've been working so hard, come relax with me," she told him. Noah obliged, sitting on the couch beside her and beginning to relax. Blaineley leaned up against him as he reached his arm around her. "This is so nice," Blaineley said, snuggling into her husband's embrace. Noah smiled, reaching his other arm over to feel Blaineley's huge belly. "Feel them?" Blaineley asked him. Noah smiled.
"Yeah…" he replied, amazed. Blaineley smiled down at her belly for a moment, before speaking up.
"What should we name them?" Blaineley asked. Noah thought for a moment.
"Well, we're having a boy and a girl, how about I come up with the girl's name and you come up with the boy's name?" Noah suggested. Blaineley nodded and the two began to think. After a while, Blaineley spoke up.
"Marcus Owen Desari," she told him. Noah grinned. He liked the name Marcus, and he liked the way she honored Owen, the twins' godfather, just like he meant to honor Izzy, the godmother.
"I like it," Noah said, smiling. "How about Candace Isabelle Desari?" Blaineley smiled wide.
"I love that name!" Blaineley told him. "Marcus Owen and Candace Isabelle…" Blaineley rubbed her stomach and smiled, feeling the active twins within. "I think they like their names." Noah leaned over and kissed her stomach twice, one for each baby, and then kissed Blaineley's cheek gently.
"I love you, mommy," he told her. Blaineley smiled.
"I love you too, daddy," Blaineley replied, smiling. The two cuddled together on the couch for a while before Noah stood up to return to his work.
"Call me if you need anything," Noah told her. She nodded in agreement.
Not five minutes later, Blaineley's voice reached him once more, asking for more ice cream.
