This is a small piece I broke away from something I was writing. It's my first on here, so please, take it easy on me. It's very short so...do as you please with it.

And Yang…well that was complicated too.

Sometimes when Blake was feeling down, Yang would do anything to cheer her up, just like she did with her little sister.

Blake remembered walking into team RWBYs dorm room one day, the day little Ruby Rose had had what she described earlier as "One of the worst days she'd ever had".

She had heard it before she saw it.

"Higher, Yang! Higher!" Rubys giggle echoed in her sentence. She heard the soft sound of Yangs' laugh followed by "Okay Ruby, we'll go higher!" And what Blake had looked up to see…well…that was the thing that sold her that Yang Xiao Long was the most beautiful and friendly girl she had ever met.

Yang had a hand on her younger sisters lower stomach and bottom of her chest, the young girl held just above her head in a horizontal position. Ruby had a smile across her face from ear to ear. "Ruby, what's going on?" Blake asked, trying to hide her grin. Yang started to spin around in a circle slowly , getting faster and faster with each turn. "Yang is letting me play Rocket Ship!" She laughed.

Yang slowed down, her expression soft, lilac eyes showing kindness. "We're back in Vale, mrs. Space explorer!" Yang brought her sister down very gently on Blakes bed. Ruby began to stretch out on her partners bed, eyes drooping slightly. "Nap time, space explorer. I'll take you to the moon and back when you wake up." Yangs voice was soft, like a mother putting her child to bed. She bent down to kiss Ruby on her forehead, the smaller girl whispering a tiny "thank you" before closing her eyes. Blake looked to Yang, wanting an explanation.

"I hope you don't mind…" Yang said softly.

"I-it's fine I just…what happened in here?"

Yang looked at the tiny girl in the bed and sighed.

"Whenever she was little she'd always get upset whenever dad mentioned mom…so one day, I offered to take her space. And now whenever she gets upset, I tell her I'd take her to the stars and back." Yang looked to her boots, eyes welling with tears. Blake walked over to her teammate, taking Yangs hand in hers. She tried to come up with a question to distract her partner.

"Why space?" She asked, gently rubbing the taller girls knuckles. The blonde let out a small choked laugh, her hair starting to spill over her shoulders.

"I always told Ruby that in space you have no problems. You start clean." That made sense to Blake. "I wake up to you having nightmares all the time, Blake." That took her by surprise. Yang got up and started to head towards the door, pausing momentarily, conflicted look on her face. She was soon seemingly over her confusion, leaning over to kiss Blakes cheek. "I'd take you to the stars and back too, Blakey." Blake blushed a light red color, making Yang laugh. Soon, her partner had left the room, leaving Blake to think.

'What is Yang to me? '
