Kamui woke up. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom sink to wash his face. After he dried off, he lowered the towel and looked to the mirror.

It wasn't his own face he saw. It was Fuuma's.

But it wasn't his Fuuma. This person didn't have Fuuma's kind smile. Instead he looked cocky and cruel. This was the dark Kamui, the one the original blamed for everything that had gone wrong since his arrival in Tokyo.

"But what are you saying?" the Kamui of the dragons of Earth asked from the mirror. "I'm you."

He reached out through the glass and, taking the other Kamui's wrists, began to draw him in. "And you're me. We'll always be the same." He pulled slowly, inexorably, bringing Kamui behind the quicksilver with him. Two halves of the same soul, trapped together in a reflection.

This was a dream Kamui had with astonishing regularity, but he never remembered it when he woke up.
