Naru Osaka walked into the bridge overlooking a highway by the afternoon as she started lamenting on her fate.
"Usagi still hasn't noticed me despite the fact that I moved into the same high school as she is in now. What's worse is that she has her new friends there as well. Good thing Rei didn't enroll there. What am I going to do to get her to hang with her? I mean, what secret is she hiding from me?"
"That's what I want to know, too," a voice stated and she turns to see a brunette girl. "I mean, it's like she's planning to ditch you for the new crowd or something."
"Hey, aren't you that new student who transferred to my class?" Naru asked.
"That's right. My name is Veronica Sawyer," said the brunette.
"I see... My name is Naru Osaka."
"Well, Naru, how would you like to hang out with me for the night? We should not sit and do nothing while that old friend of yours is hanging out with those four girls. It's about time we find out this girl's secret. What do you say?"
After thinking of the moment for about a second, the redhead nodded.
"Good. Let's go meet outside Usagi's house by tonight. That's where we'll begin our spying operation."
Outside of her best friend's house in the night, Naru is seen waiting for Veronica. She is wearing a long-sleeved orange shirt, dark green skirt, mint green tights, and black Mary Jane shoes.
"I wonder what's taking Veronica so long," she wondered while looking at her watch.
"Sorry I'm late," Veronica has arrived and she is wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, dark blue skirt, black pantyhose, dark blue socks, and black loafers. "Just dressing up for the right occasion."
"Right..."
They sneak into the house by going by the backdoor.
"Now, we go up the tree," Veronica instructed as they climbed up the tree. When they did, she is on the top branch while Naru is on the middle branch.
"You're paying for my funeral if this branch breaks," the latter whispered.
"Oh, shut up! You'll be fine!" the former whispered as well.
They saw Usagi going to her room after school and noticing how she's talking to Luna, her pet cat.
"Is she... talking to her cat?" Naru asked.
"I think she is," Veronica could think of the same. "Maybe her cat is talking in human language or something. I wonder what's new."
Suddenly, they ended up witnessing a transformation sequence from the girl they're spying on.
"No way..." Veronica said with surprise.
"Usagi is Sailor Moon?" Naru is also surprised.
"I think that's enough spying for the night."
"I agree with you."
Their voices happen to be loud enough for the Sailor Soldier to notice them.
"Uh-oh, we're busted! We need to jump right now!" Veronica exclaimed as she jumps off the branch and starts running.
Just as she is about to do the same, the branch Naru is standing on suddenly snaps where her head got hit by another branch and fell down to the ground. With this, she fell into unconsciousness.
