A New Beginning

He sat in the back of the cab as he rode down a street that he had not been on in several years. He thought about the past and why he had left and the event that made him change his life. Looking back on his life he couldn't help but smirk. How did I waste so much of my life he thought. He came back to New York City because an old friend had asked him to come speak at his church. Since he was a beg name in this city at one time, it seemed like a good idea. People would listen to him since he was a native of the city. When he was asked to come speak he was very excited and jumped at the idea. Now that he was here he decided to do more than just speak at the church. He wanted to see some "old friends" that he had not seen in a few years. They will be shocked to see me he thought again. As the taxi turn the corner to his destination he could not help but get a little nervous. It has been so long and he was worried how they would react when they seen him again. As the cab pulled up in front of the store the man in the back seat got out and handed the driver a fifty dollar bill. The cab driver was about to get change but the man just held up his hand.

"You keep it my friend, thank you for the lift" the man said.

"Well thank you sir, would you like me to wait for you and drive you somewhere when you finish your business here?" the cab driver asked.

"That will be quite alright, I thank you but you said you have a little one at home that needs help with her homework. Please go home and help her" the man smiled.

"Well if you are sure" the cab driver said.

"I am sure and thank you again" the man replied as he waved and then drove off.

As the cab drove off the man turned and looked up at the sign above the store., Second Time Around Antiques, and took a deep breath and walked through the door. As he looked around his eye caught the young lady at the counter, she couldn't have been more than 18 years old. The girl caught his eye and he walked up to her.

"Can I help you sir?" the girl asked.

"Yes, I am looking for the owner. Is it still a Mrs. April O' Neal?" the man asked.

"Yes sir it is. I'm Ashley. Hang on one sec and I will get her for you. She is in the back with Casey putting things on the shelves." Ashley told the man and started to the back of the store.

"Thank you and would you please have Mr. Casey Jones come to please, I would like a word with him to." The man told after her.

The girl walked to the back leaving the man alone in the front. He was real nervous now and for a moment wanted to run out the door but he knew he could not do that. As the man was thinking a woman came through the door from the back.

"Thanks for waiting can I help you sir?" April asked. The man turned and smiled at her just as Casey walked in. Both gasped when the man turned around to face them.

"It has been a long time April and Casey" the man said to them.

"HUN!" both yelled as Casey reached behind the counter to grab his bat. But Hun just raised his hand towards them and said,

"please that will not be necessary" Hun said and then added "And it is Reverend Hun"
