Animal
The pain was unbearable, the thirst for blood overpowering. He lay on the floor of the headmaster's bathroom, panting, trying to focus, to keep his human side. He could feel the madness slowly creeping over him, the blood lust quickly setting in. But he didn't want just any blood. No, not just any, that simply wouldn't do. The only blood he craved was hers, Yuuki's. The one person he swore never to hurt is the one person who could satisfy his thirst.
He grabbed his throat. If only the burning would stop. If only the pain would fade to a bearable level. His eye's glowed red and the tattoo on his neck blazed. He squeezed them shut. I must maintain control. I can't fall to level E. I WILL NOT live as a level E! Living only for the sweet taste of blood.He grabbed his head, holding it in both hands. No don't think like that, blood is vile I don't want it.He lied to himself though it was no use. The raw burning in his throat, the feeling like someone had stuck a hot poker down it, didn't lie.
He was becoming more and more a vampire each day. More and more an indomitable, uncontrollable beast. A vicious animal. He knew he couldn't stop it, it was inevitable.
He writhed on the bathroom floor as the pain reached new levels. He tried to stand, he needed to find anything, anything to make this stop, but he fell to the floor in a useless heap.
There was a knock on the door and Yuuki's voice.
" Zero? Are you in here?" She asked, pushing the door open a crack.
Her cheerful face peeked around the door, her eyes widening in fear as she took in Zero's writhing form and agonized face.
"Zero..." She whispered.
Yuuki knew what was happening. He was falling to level E. Soon his mind would be lost, leaving only the instinct and desire to feed.
"Stay away!!" He moaned his voice distorted.
Ignoring him she advanced, tears streaking her face. She would do what she could to quench his thirst.
"GET AWAY!!!...DON'T TOUCH ME!"
Yuuki knelt beside his head. Her scent was intoxicating. He strained to move away from her, but his body responded to the call of her blood. That irresistible pull. She leaned over him, lifting his head to her neck.
NO! NO! Yuuki run!He couldn't force the words past his lips, his body had a will of it's own. His hand reached up, grabbing onto her hair, holding it tight so she couldn't pull away. His mouth opened, bearing his fangs. And he bit deep into her soft flesh, her sweet blood pouring into his mouth.
He was no longer in control. She could sense that his mind was completely lost. She could feel the pull as he sucked her blood. Feel the dizziness as he crossed the line, drinking more of her blood then she could ever recover from. He would kill her tonight.
Her arms wound around his body hugging her closer to him. Her hands stroked his hair. At least she was helping someone she loved.
Her mouth parted and she moaned softly before her body went limp, the last of her blood running in a thin line down her neck as Zero pulled back.
He looked in horror at the girl laying in his arms.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" He let out a ringing roar of sorrow and loss. And the animal claimed the last shred of his humanity.
