A bullet soared through air, hit skin and the woman let out one last piercing scream. It was over. The house would be burned later, to avoid bringing another ghost into this world. They were hunters, but that didn't mean they couldn't save people from something that wasn't demonic. The woman had kidnapped a child and kept it in circumstances worse then most prisoners these days were treated. When they had made sure the house had burned to the ground, they left and took the child with them. As the last flames died down, the child looked back and no one saw her eyes starting to water or the flash of blue they left behind.

Sam was thinking. He had dreamt his girlfriend was dying a lot lately, and it bothered him. he didn't realized he had been zoning out, until he was brought back to earth by a girl snapping her fingers in front of his eyes.
"Hey, you might want to hurry, class is almost starting."
He stared at her, confused for a second.
"Hey! Maya! It's time to go!"
The girl turned around and started to leave, but stopped and said one last thing to him
"Don't stay behind after school. You won't like it."
With that, she was gone. He saw she was right about class, so he got his books and went off.
The day was almost over and Sam was putting his books away. It had been a calm day, nothing out of the ordinary, except for that girl. As he thought that, he heard screaming coming from a classroom. Everyone was gone already, it was late, so he went to see what was wrong.
What he saw scared him. The same girl he saw this morning was now fighting a chupacabra She wouldn't stand a chance, so he screamed at her to get away. She looked around, startled. And that was when the creature struck.
She was hit back, flying through the air and landing hard, sliding to the floor. The split second it took him to check if she was ok was enough for the chupacabra to attack again. He avoided some of the hits, but the fourth struck with full force and hit him to the wall, like the girl.
He looked to the creature and was surprised to see the girl had been able to get up. She walked right towards it, and how much he wanted to yell at her to get away, to save herself, he couldn't get the air to do it. But what she did then, surprised him.
He saw her reach into her coat, grab a gun from it and shoot the creature in the middle of the forehead. Then, as if she did nothing special, she put the gun away again and turn around to help him up. He looked at her, eyes full of shock. The gun was nowhere to be seen
"Amateur. Next time someone tells you to go home immediately, listen"
He wanted to ask her if she was talking to him, but in a flash of blue, she was gone, leaving only a red, heart shaped stone behind.
