Disclaimer: I don't own Hunger Games or the world or a car or a real magic wand :'(
Do you even wanna read my A/N? Do you want to read this story? Go ahead... I'll just be drinking coffee and reading Mockingjay until I fall asleep.
I'm not drunk, I stayed up until 6am and woke up at 9:30 (I did write this last night but much earlier). Not as bad as the time I pulled the all-nighter, but my parents knew then and I took a seven hour nap. I'm stuck acting like I'm just wonderful. My sister knows, but she was busy being terrified of the Titanic last night because she read the Wikipedia article and then she went to bed and I finished Catching Fire and then discovered it was 6 so I went to bed but I'm so tired I can hardly stand
Wait, I'm sitting...
Katniss Everdeen slipped through the fence, her long brown hair slung in a braid against her shoulder. She took off running, then stopped as usual. "Gale?"
"I'm here," he said, standing up from his rock and hugging Katniss. "I thought I might blend in a bit."
Katniss laughed. "Not really. I knew you were here."
"Of course you did," he said, winking. "That's why you needed to call me."
Katniss just laughed again, pretending to be indignant. She wasn't, though. Not really. Gale saw through any lie she told, anyway.
"Where today?" he asked. "Fish or meat?"
Katniss paused, then said, "Fish. Prim asked for it, too, so we can save a little bit for her."
Gale nodded and picked up his fishing spear, sitting back down on his rock next to the stream. "Yep, of course. It looks like there's a lot of fish today. I was watching."
Katniss sat down next to him and smiled. "Great. We haven't had fish to trade for a while, either. It'll be welcomed at the Hob."
Gale just nodded and started scouting the waters. Katniss didn't say anything to break the silence. It was peaceful, just sitting there and not saying anything. She almost didn't need to say anything with Gale. They shared an understanding.
"They seem to have gone," Gale remarked after a while, not having caught anything. "There were so many before."
"That's impossible," Katniss said, watching the stream too. There were no fish, though. "But you're right."
Gale sighed. "Too bad. Prim deserves that fish, she's been helping with your mom's work all this week."
Katniss nodded, but didn't say anything, pleading a fish to come. One still didn't.
Gale was just about to stand up and walk away when a fish did come along. Katniss jumped up and pointed excitedly. After a minute or so, the fish was speared. "Prim's fish," he explained.
Katniss laughed and threw herself into Gale's arms.
Did you like it? Review it! Or just say whether you did or didn't like it because "Yes" or "No" isn't a review it's a word. But I'm okay with a word if you are. Fair enough?
I'm gonna go drink some more coffee. Like maybe a whole pot. Or maybe the whole world of coffee.
Linley :$
Wait, what? I was just thinking about how I'm gonna make Tonight Tonight my ringtone
