Kate ran out of the van when she heard the bomb explode. Her face was one of sheer panic - please don't be dead Castle. Please don't be dead - She ran into the building, calling out his name "Castle! Castle!"
Nothing. No answer. "Castle!".
She saw a brown-haired head, next to a red-haired one. "Castle! Martha! Are you all right?"
She ran towards them, and then she saw it, they were dead. "No! Castle! Please no, please..."
Kate woke up with a start. Tears were running down her eyes and she was shuddering violently. She felt his arms wrap around her "Hey Kate, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
She didn't answer "Don't cry baby, what's wrong? Talk to me"
Kate turned towards him and buried her head into the crook of his neck. "I dreamt you were dead Rick. I thought I'd lost you forever."
Castle wrapped his arms tighter around her waist. He kissed the top of her head. "It's okay baby, I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."
Kate smiled against his neck. "I love you."
... 2 weeks earlier...
Kate walked into the apartment behind Castle. As soon as Martha saw her, she went towards her and pulled her in for a hug. When they walked into the kitchen and Kate saw the gigantic feast the Martha had cooked she couldn't help but stand there gaping. "Oh, wow, Martha. You... You outdid yourself."
After they ate, and after Castle has finished counting all the times he'd saved Beckett's life, Castle and Kate sat in the couch, talking. Alexis had gone to bed, and Martha was upstairs making more costumes for her acting class. They were just sitting there, calmly sipping their wine, when suddenly Kate grabbed Castle's hand. She looked at him and he could see all the raw emotion in her eyes; the fear, the relief, and most importantly the love. "I was afraid I'd loose you today. When that bomb went off I...I just. I couldn't bear the thought of loosing you."
"It's okay Kate, I didn't die. I'm okay, you didn't loose me. It's okay"
"No Castle, It's not okay. If you had died, without knowing..."
"Without knowing what?"
"That I love you too."
