A light-golden blonde, she cat sauntered through the dark alley, dogs barking frantically in the distance. She hissed, as she came to the mouth of the alley, bright lights searing her eyes. She lashes her tail- hissing. Cars zoomed by the Thunderpath in front of her. She huffed, and waited until they came to a complete stop. She was used to this by now. Once they all slowed, she raced across; nails clicking on the black concrete.

She safely stopped at the other side- only to pick up speed again when twolegs began rushing past her. She hissed, and slithered through the maze of feet, until she reached another alley.

She plopped down to rest, sighing, as she caught her breathe.

Suddenly a hiss came from the darkest, shrouded, corner of the alley. She backed into the light again, only to scent an old she-cat nearby. She walked forward into the darkness, almost swallowing her. "HELLO!" She yowled, flicking her ear. "HELLO!"

"Young cat; you shouldn't be walking around like this." Came a voice- as a white and brown cat stepped from the darkness. She was missing an eye, and she was old. The light-golden she-cat hissed.

"Get away from me!"

"No, you have it all wrong! I can help. Sheesh!" Hissed the old cat.

"What do you mean?" Asked the light-golden she-cat. Was she talking about her constant tiredness- or always being hungry?

"Have you looked at yourself lately?" Asked the old she-cat, stepping completely from the shadows. "Your obviously going to have kits!"

"What!? No?" Said the light she-cat. "I'm not-"

"Yes, you are! I'm surprised you're even walking! You're late in."

The light she-cats eyes widened. "Really?" Now that she had glances at her stomach; it was looking really swollen.

"Here," began the she-cat. She pushed a pile of meat- that smelt very much like blackbird- in front of her. "Eat."

"I refuse to eat Crowfood." Said the light she-cat, gagging.

"It's not! It's chicken." Said the old she-cat. "Now, what your name?"

"Sunstar." Replied the light she cat.

"Opal. That's my name." Said the old she cat, smiling. "Your not from 'round here are you?"

"Nope." Said Sunstar, as she began. "I just woke up here after losing... Passing out." She said, not wanting to scare Opal.

"Well, where' you from?" Asked Opal, sitting down.

Sunstar swallowed her first bite of chicken. "She forest, I trying to find it. It's edged with red oak trees, and-" Sunstar was cut off by Opal.

"Oh! There's this thing called a Subway that takes humans there! For... I don't know. But once you've kitted I can take you there!" Exclaimed Opal, smilingly.

Humans were Twolegs... Sunstar remembered when Smokefur told her that.

"Sure!" Said Sunstar, heart bursting. This was it, she was going home! It'd been a moon since she'd been there...
