FLINTSTAR'S STRATEGY
Flintstar seemed moody today. He had already got a thorn pierced deeply into his paw pad while travelling to highstones with WillowFeather, Thunderclan's medicine cat. The former leader, BuriedStar, had her last life taken due to greencough. He was still mourning her death since Flintstar favored her. Now he had to choose his deputy as he kind of broke the warrior code by waiting more than moonhigh to choose his deputy. Flintstar padded out of his den out to the center of the camp. He still had to arrange the dawn patrol. He found his choice. "Dawnbreeze, Drowningpaw, and Mudpelt, Take dawning patrol. Drowningpaw, I don't want you near snakerocks again or i'll feed you mousebile!" Drowningpaw was a major nuisance of the clan. Last moon he was bit by a grumpy adder and tried to hide it. Thank Starclan they chose him NOT to be taken with them. Most of the Elders of the clan exchange bad looks when he's around. Flintstar is sometimes called too careful as he always takes two patrols at once. That's part of his strategy. "Flintstar!" Ottersplash yowled so the whole Shadowclan's territory can hear her. "I need you to look after Woodkit and Strikekit, they played with fire ants and one of them got swarmed! I'm going to fetch fresh kill for myself." she said as if she's bored.
Ottersplash has been Flintstar's mate ever since the dog attack at Fourtrees where she lost a little bit of her ear. She's been very grumpy when she started her kitting three moons ago. He padded to the nursery where he got ambushed by Woodkit. "Gotcha! I killed the leader! I killed the leader!" She yelled happily. Strikekit was smirking in the distance as I struck a warning glance at Woodkit. Flintstar hasn't had any experience in being a father, but he had enough to be one. Ottersplash came back to nurse the kits so I can have a chance to get up ontop of the highrock. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the highrock for a clan meeting." I yowled across the camp so everyone can here me. "I know I am late to choose a deputy, so I'll do so now." he said anxiously to the clan. This was the hardest task he has done so far. He scanned across the camp as the dawn patrol sat comfortably under the highrock. If he chose the wrong warrior, he may be scolded for seasons. "Mudpelt!" He mewed in preparation for hatred of the crowd. Instead, the clan murmured in agreement. "Mudpelt, do you accept this honor?" Flintstar exclaimed."I do." Mudpelt replied. "Very well" Flintstar said. "Mudpelt is now deputy of Thunderclan." Right after Flintstar said that a yowl came from Holetail, an elder, spat in disagreement. "Mudpelt is the laziest warrior i've known! He's more lazy than a kittypet after a trip to the cutter." She hissed.
"Holetail, please." Holetail glanced at Flintstar with her battleworn red eyes and stopped protesting.
Today has been a long day, he has sent two evening patrols since Shadowclan leader Daisystar declared war on us, along with Windclan. Atleast Thunderclan had a "Kitsplosion" a season ago. Flintstar and his clan were piled up on apprentices that some mentors were given two apprentices, like Hollowfoot. He's been complaining about stress most of the time, I don't blame him. Flintstar soon padded into the leader's den so he can have a good rest for tomorrow.
