Insanity

It's dark. Quiet. The only thing you can hear is the shaking of your own breath. An uncomfortable darkness surrounds you. Your eyes scan over the room and the only thing you can make out is the edges in the corner of each wall. You don't know where you are. It felt like you were trapped in a box or a solitary confinement. Your body felt numb as you sat against the wall with your arms hugging your knees. You could feel yourself shaking, but that was it. Why can't I move? Is the only thought that crosses your mind. You have nothing holding you down, no restraints, nothing. You see the sweat falling from your forehead to your hands. All the sudden, you hear the footsteps walking towards you. You try to move your body to get out of this hell, but you're still trapped. The walls start to close in on you and you hear yourself scream as you feel the walls crumpling down. The hideous laugh echo's around you, like it does every time it sees you in pain. Every piece of the wall that comes in contact with your body causes you to scream louder and the laughter to grow stronger. And then, as soon as it started, it was over.

You awake with a cold sweat running down your face. You saw the outline of your room and knew you were safe. Well, barely safe. It was these 'reoccurring' dreams that caused you to stay up every night until you can't take it anymore.

The sleepless nights have cost you your sanity.
