A/N: Well.. You probably all know how much I adore Eichi/mitsuki and how uncomfortable I am with Takuto/Mitsuki (even though I'm ok with it… But still… EICHI-KUN!!!!) cough anyway…Here's my version of the ending. I can't write the bit when Meroko appeared before Mitsuki and led her to Takuto because that was already presented so beautifully in the anime I didn't dare touch it. I admit. I cried.

Feathers. Again. He looked up at the sky. There were no clouds in sight. And no birds either.
He held the pink feather in his hand and continued to walk. Lost in his thoughts about feathers, birds, and songs, he looked up to see a place he didn't recognise.
The waves crashed against the bricks and the drops of water sprayed over the rails. He shrugged and sat down on the bench, resting his guitar on the ground next to him. He observed the feather and the plush kitten hanging on the zip of the guitar case and couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Something was missing.
'Takuto!'
He shook his head. The voice was still there. Who? Who was it? He distantly remembered laughs and shouts on the roof at night. Roof!? What the hell was he doing on the roof? More importantly, why the hell was he laughing on the roof? He reached up to scratch his head but something else was missing. Missing? He never wore any headgear.. Did he? So many questions whirling in his head. He gave a frustrated sigh and tucked the feather into his pocket. It was audition time, and he didn't have time for this. He'll think about it later.
He picked his guitar up and swung it over his shoulders. He was going to win this. Route L's Takuto Kira was going to make a come back. Nothing was going to stop him now.
'TAKUTO!!'
He froze. His name? Someone was calling his name. He turned around and saw a girl. Around 13 years old, apparently talking to something in the air next to her. He raised an eyebrow. Maybe that something had the same name as him. He shrugged and was about to walk off again when he heard it. The painful shout that came from the girl standing in front of him.
'Meroko!!'
His heart seemed to stop. He pulled the feather out of his pocket and twirled it in his fingers.
'Did you just say.. Meroko?'
The girl looked up at him, with tears still shining in her eyes. He looked down at the feather.
'Takuto!! No!! Don't disappear!'
What.. Was that? He shook his head. It felt like something was being pulled from deep within his memory. Somewhere he couldn't reach.
'No matter how many times I confess, I'm always serious.'
'I'll be happy to give my life for him'
'Please, let me be a ghost in his place!'
He held the feather tightly in his hands.
'Takuto! What happened? Are you hurt?'
He looked up. Hurt? How did she…? And then he felt it. Tears trickling down the side of his face. He was crying. But why? Why was he crying? Why did it feel painful?
Something warm pressed against his cheek and he looked up. For a split second he saw something pink flutter upwards.
'Mero…ko…?'
He thought he heard a faint laugh ring through the air before the vision disappeared entirely.
'Oi! Meroko!!'
He called after her, but the sky around him was clear and blue, without a single cloud, or bird, let alone angels.
So that was you…
'Takuto?'
He stopped to turn back to the girl who was waiting patiently. He looked into her eyes and the rest of his memories came back to him.
