Yo Peeps, GateMasterGreen here. I heard the news about Monty, so I wrote this.

Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY. RWBY belongs to Roosterteeth and the late Monty Oum.

The sky turned dark above Beacon, as if the blue hue had been wiped clean of color, even white. A silent dread fell over Team RWBY as they witnessed it.

A strangled cry was heard across the hall, Nora crying in anguish, though they knew why. Lie Ren, the quietest member of JNPR had fallen asleep, never to wake again. After he was discovered to have left the world of life, the sky had slowly gone out.

The whole academy was coated in a mourning darkness, one that seemed to close in on everyone and that's when it began.

A few miles out, a large wall of darkness was seen before the world turned pitch black. All they knew was that it was growing ever closer. So, here they were, huddled in their room, sitting beside a lamp, the only light still available to them.

Minutes passed as the dreadful feeling grew. The oppressing push of it, pressing down on Team RWBY. The weight was something they had never experienced before and it was crushing.

Ruby, normally so loud and cheery, was now quiet as she tried to find solace in the company of her team. To her left, Weiss was pacing, a troubled frown on her face.

Yang, too, was quiet, the blonde brawler lacking the motivation to make her jokes. Blake, well, she was concerned about the blonde. She was certain the storm would pass.

A slight shudder caused them to jump. The room shook as dark seeped in on each side. They grouped together as they looked at the dark with fear. What was to become of them?

And then it closed in on them.

Silver eyes fluttered open, her vision assaulted by a vast sea of white. There was no beginning or end around her, but Ruby Rose could make out the people around her. Friends, family, teachers, and enemies alike, but none regarded each other with contempt. The dead need not quarrel.

In the center of the group was Ren, though he looked a bit older. He smiled warmly at the people around him, Nora's arms latched around him. He played with her hair before speaking. "I didn't expect you guys to show up."

His smile widened ever so slightly. "But, I guess this is what heaven would be for me."

End..

In the night, we may fade and go

To places unseen, and worlds unknown.

Though death might cast its wicked gaze

Hope will pierce the shadow's haze.

We live, we hope, we die

We see much through our mortal eye

But the worst may come

And ruin us some

But In The End, The Shadow Did Fall.

~ But In The End, The Shadow Did Fall by Tyler Green

I may not be entitled in anyway to speak of the creator of RWBY, but that is why I made this. There are no words to describe the loss that the FNDM will feel, with the man behind it all dead. His work on the show was something I treasured, but not his only worth. I may be inexperienced when it comes to the loss associated with death, but I know that life is something important. He was very young, a true slight to his life to end it so soon. He had so much potential left and it was taken, but we must keep in mind his legacy.

Behind him, he left us with RWBY, among other things. He left us with the show we all love. It is my true hope that RWBY will push through this tragedy and honor the fallen. Whether the show is cancelled or if it will live, the heart of a fandom will never die out, so long as the characters exist and we keep the spirit behind them alive. Lie Ren, voiced by Monty Oum, will forever be a tough spot in RWBY because his voice died just recently. It is the fans duty to keep him and Monty alive within our hearts.

I am inexperienced, ignorant, and I put myself ahead of others far too often, but Monty didn't. RWBY was his gift to us all, something to treasure.

Rest in peace, Monty Oum.
