Nick knew from the moment he woke up, that today was going to be an exciting day. Firstly, the weather was much better than it had been in a while, and secondly, due to this weather, he could infer that Jeff and Lilac would both be very energetic (they fed off the sun- The Warblers could vouch for that!). Nick tried to get in as much relaxation time as he could before his husband and daughter woke him up. However, all of the silence was broken in the Duval-Sterling house hold as soon as the clock struck 8:00 a.m.
Nick could hear the giggles long before he saw the source. Jeff had Lilac on his back as they ran into the kitchen, ready for breakfast. Nick had already prepared waffles- "My favourite!", Jeff and Lilac would always shout in unison. Nick's childish husband and daughter always did the same things in the morning:
Jeff would wake up
Jeff would venture into Lilac's room where he would proceed to awaken their sleeping beauty
Jeff would pick Lilac up (the form of pick-up varied from morning to morning)
They would go into the kitchen, where Nick would have prepared breakfast for them already.
This day was no different.
Nick watched on in amusement as his child-like husband tried to fit a whole waffle in his mouth at one time. Nick bit back any innuendos that he could have said in this situation, remembering that their innocent daughter was in the room.
"Papa, can we go to the park?" Jeff promptly squealed, yes, squealed in excitement (after swallowing his waffle, of course!)
"Sure, honey,"
An hour later, they were off. Arms laden with toys and picnic baskets, they drove to the nearest park. Upon their arrival, Jeff was the first out to the car, seconded by Lilac, leaving Nick to bring all of the things that they needed. "Like always" he thought with amusement.
He wandered over to the playground, completely unsurprised to see Jeff on the swings, Lilac settled firmly on his lap, the two swinging at a gentle pace. Their twin blonde hair glistened in the sunlight, and their pale skin was bound to get burnt sooner or later, so he ushered them over to the shade, sun-blocked them (even Jeff, who wanted Nick to do it for him- boy, how his husband teased him.)
Finally, when the blondes were all sun safe, Nick decided to call Klaine and ask if they wanted to come to the park. Their son, Rory, was one of Lilac's "bestest friends" and they were inseparable. 10 minutes later, Blaine, Jeff, Lilac and Rory were all taking turns on the slides, racing each other with feverish excitement. Nick and Kurt were staying well hidden from the sun, as Kurt had brought massive umbrellas for the sun safe boys to hide under.
Later, as the sun begins to set, Nick and Kurt find their children fast asleep on the picnic blanket. Looking around for their significant others, Nick can hardly suppress his laughter, causing passer-bys to look at him as if he were deranged. Kurt followed Nick's line of sight, laughing as they saw their husbands playing together. Jeff had decided at some point during the day that he was a small child again, and had gotten into the small tunnel, only to promptly get stuck. All Nick could see was that gorgeous bottom of his fine man. Finally, Blaine tickled Jeff's feet, causing the blonde to jump so far forward that he catapulted out of the tight tunnel, landing straight on the ground. Luckily, he was fine, with no injuries whatsoever.
It was nearing dinner time as the families said their goodbyes. They piled into their respective vehicles, and drove away into the sunset, putting their wonderful day behind them.
A.N- Well that was interesting. I absolutely adore childish!Jeff.
