Tatl sighed. Link had insisted on stopping to rest for the night, despite not having much time left. He'd booked a room in the inn for the night, ignoring her insistence that they should at least save the money. "I've got plenty of money, Tatl. Every time I play the Song of Time all those chests have new rupees" he'd said. However, the boy didn't even seem to be doing much in the way of sleeping.

"What are you doing, Link? I thought you wanted to sleep?" she finally asked, irritated by his constant shifting and squirming.

"It's really itchy..."

"What is?"

"The bug bites. There were a lot of bugs in that swamp."

"I didn't notice them."

"You're a fairy. You're practically one yourself."

"You little-!"

Before she could tackle him in the face, he'd already stood up. "You got any ideas to help relieve this? Every movement I make, my clothes rub against it and make it even worse. I can't do anything without them acting up!"

"Maybe the innkeeper knows of an apothecary nearby? No harm in asking."

Link sighed, and decided to take her advice. He wasn't getting any sleep anyway. However, the innkeeper said that the nearest apothecary was the Witch's hut in the Swamp.

"Now what? I'm not going back there again, by the time I get there and back it won't have even helped!" He sighed exasperatedly. They were now back up in the room he'd rented, and he was sitting on the bed, with her perched on the night table.

Tatl thought for awhile, before an ingenious idea came to her. "I know! Maybe if you use ice to numb it, you won't notice it?"

Link thought for a moment before responding with "Where am I supposed to find ice?"

"There's snow in northern Termina field... maybe if we go there, that'll help?"

Link agreed to try it, considering he knew he'd never manage to sleep otherwise (he'd been subconsciously scratching at the welts constantly for the last hour, and they were starting to become raw). After gathering his belongings in case he ended up running into something hostile, he left the inn and headed through North Clock Town to the gate. Once outside, he ran to the nearest patch of snow. There was only a light dusting in this part of the field, so he continued heading north, trying to find an area with enough snow that he could roll around in it or something. Eventually, he'd climbed fairly high up the trail, completely forgetting about the itchiness. He's been attacked by several tektites and boes, and at this point continued climbing purely out of curiosity. Tatl was surprised her plan had worked so well, and was beginning to wonder if he'd even noticed, before...

"I hate you Tatl. Just throwing that out there."

"I hate you too, Link. Now go hurry up and find the Gorons."
